March 17th 2003, a 5 piece rock group hit the stage at Rockwood South Middle School, thinking they were the best thing since sliced bread. That same year marked the beginning of the Florissant band Standing Still, and Jeffco band Mailman Bites Dog.

Throughout the confusion that happened after the break up of the two bands, vocalist, Brandon Taylor, of Standing Still met with 3 members of who were then called Last Minute Awakening to form Ashes of Red. After the removal of two other bassists, the band landed Justin Roskowske of MBD immediately after his old band split. Amid all of the confusion of "emo" and "screamo" bands, AOR finds itself somewhere in the middle of it all, incorperating deep screams and high screams along with singing harmonies.

With a live show that is far beyond the bands age, and with every song they write is an improvement from the last, Ashes of Red seems to be slowly but surely busting into the local scene.

The band is currently promoting their CD aptly titled "Experiments Vol. 1 and is on sale for $4 at any show or from any member. Also they have shirts for $10. The band is currently writing for their brand new cd "Tasty Riffs Vol. 1."
