The ambitious yet humble band, Arms Reach, is pursuing greater heights. A combined effort from lead vocalist and guitarist Alex Price, drummer Marty Kroon, bassist and vocalist Adam Fitness and guitarist Jonny Carson, has seen Arms Reach extend their power/pop sound, gaining larger recognition.

Their sound has been heard throughout the country, with the band taking all opportunities by way of gigs and events. At the beginning of 2007, they played the North Island Summer Assault Tour, with friends All Left Out and Kingston. With an increasing fan base, Arms Reach was number one on Txt Tunes, over four consecutive weeks. They have also featured on My Space, as New Zealands number one power/pop band.

We try to write songs that people can relate to, and be real down to earth with people when playing live, says Alex. Drawing from as many places as possible, Arms Reach is influenced by many artists, including bands, The Starting Line and Taking Back Sunday. Theres so much negativity in music these days, and we want to try and be different, give a positive spin on things, when a lot of music on the charts is real trashy, says Jonny. The bands goal is to keep pushing boundaries, to keep writing catchy relatable songs, and to continually improve technically.

Arms Reachs 2006 EP release, Songs About Goodbyes is selling well, currently the boys are writing for their debut album (yet to be titled) which is set for release at the beginning of 2008. Were way more finding our own sound instead of just emulating other bands, were finding what we really want to sound like, says Alex. Arms Reach is a hard working, honest and energetic band with a catchy powerpop/rock feel.
