The members of Armada have all grown up with music in their lives ~ whether it be that one of their parents was an opera singer, in a marching band, or just a music enthusiast there has been music around these three guys for as long as they can remember. Originally a four piece rock band, Armada has evolved into a rockin power trio with songs ranging from punk rock to acoustic melodies and then back again to alternative rock. Influences include Nirvana, Greenday, Blink 182, Brand New, Everclear and Incubus. The Bassist, Dan Nonweiler, started playing bass in seventh grade and progressed rapidly, learning upright and blues licks until one of his friends told him that his cousin was looking for an electric bass player and he became the bassist for Armada. Mitch Washebek, the drummer for Armada, is highly skilled, having studied percussion for seven years and drumset, specifically, for about two years. He lays down beats with lightning speed and incredible stamina. He is known to throw in an occasional kick-ass drum fill that blows his fans away! The creative brains and leading musical force of Armada is singer/song writer Oliver Wright. Oliver was a sax man in the band for several years before turning to the guitar and taking up song writing. His uncanny ability to write rhythmically pounding and lyrically pleasing songs drives Armada to greatness. With melodic but fast-paced guitar riffs, a smokin' drummer and a funky, groovin' bass player, Armada is on the road to success and have just released thier new seven song EP entitled Scarlet Way!
