Members: Chris Lindsay, J.T. Unverzagt, Bryan Peterson, John Sullivan, Tony Taylor
The only band in Palm Coast, Florida that dares to be different, Apostasy is an up and coming progressive metal band that chooses not to follow the rest of their peers; and dares to be different, new, and original. Influenced by multiple genres of music, and with many years of experience at their instruments, Apostasy puts on a high energy metal show that is bound to get people moving. With songs that are driving and heavy, but also technical and progressive, Apostasy knows how to get a crowd going crazy.
How it started:
After Palm Coast's one and only punk band Weakened Revolution broke up due to conflicts within the group after four long years of playing together and fun times, former members Chris Lindsay and Bryan Peterson wanted to put a new band together. After a while, they didn't really get anywhere. A few months later Bryan was contacted by another former member of the band, bassist Tony Taylor (AutumnScars) to try and put a band together. Bryan got ahold of a guitarist named J.T. Unverzagt and the three began to play and write songs together. They needed a singer so they asked Chris to join the project. After hours of brainwashing and blackmail Chris was persuaded to join the group. They formed what is now known as Apostasy. A Progressive Metal band from Palm Coast that is influenced by many different bands and genres of music.
Apostasy played their first show in early May 2005 which got a lot of positive feedback. Tony left the group at one point to pursue other musical interests. In late 2005, John Sullivan joined Apostasy on guitar. In early 2006 Tony also returned to the band and is playing bass with Apostasy again.
Apostasy has played many venues in the Daytona/Flagler/St. Augustine area including the Seabreeze Metal Lounge, Seabreeze Coffee Connection, Club Fusion, and the Flagler Auditorium. The band is always interested in finding new venues to play, and more people to play for.
Currently:
Apostasy is currently writing and recording for a 7 song EP which remains untitled as of now. More info on it soon!
