I started A place to Run a few years ago so that I could express what God has done for me, and different things I've gone through, in a way that people could relate to. I taught myself guitar, and began to write songs whenever I felt the need to say something, or to get it out, and things just sort of molded into what's here.

i love your testimony. i can completely relate. i have grown up in a christian church and have always learned that Jesus died on the cross for me. my parents have never had a good marage. the day after my seventh birthday my dad walked out on us. and only visited us kids about one a month. for me being the oldest out with now 4 younger sibilings i just taught myself to hold it all together for everyone else and be strong for everyone else. about a year later my dad returned and my parents got back together. but only 2 years later my mom left with all us kids. my mom has always been a strong example of a woman on fire for christ. but my dad has not. his christianity is all in his head, he grew up in the christian church and his parents were very active in it. now its all in his head, he knows the bible and all. but he has nothing in his heart execpt an empty whole that only God can fill. after four years of being put in the middle of my parents devorice and hearing all the reasons why i should hate my mom i finally cracked. all my problems caught up with me and i couldn\'t run from them anymore. i couldn\'t stay strong for everyone anymore. i was broken. and that is when i found Christ. i found a relationship with him and started to understand Jesus sacrifice with my heart not just with my head. for so long i felt just like you did that God was just there for church, holidays and tragidies. but now i have learned that he is there all the time. and i need him all the time. and it is amazing to understand that. God is so good. -abbi Jul 04
