The band started out of nothing but a desire to create. The three remaining original members, John, Scott, and Nick, came together out of deceptively quaint suburban bubble known as Newbury Park, CA. The area has been called home to national acts such as Pulley and Strung Out, as well as upcoming bands SixDifferentWays, Soul Incinerator, and Wish You Were Dead. The guys got together after having moved to San Diego for school for the sole purpose of writing aggressive and interesting music. No genre was specifically intended, they just wanted it heavy. WIth their first EP recorded on a less than extravagant budget, the five member outfit including Jon on vocals and Mike on drums played shows around the Los Angeles and San Diego areas for a few months before deciding to part ways with Mike due to his passion for the melodic with Nome Aesthetic. APT tried out drummers for weeks, and eventually decided that Barry should take the open spo, who introduced Brian to cover vocal duties. Since then the band has been writing new music to record at SushiFish Studios in San Diego, California. They hope to bring in 2006 with new material for shows and a West Coast tour.
The lineup:
Brian Frank - vocals
Nick Norton - guitar/vocals
John Prindle - guitar
Scott Toepfer - bass/vocals
Barry Hackett - drums
The songs posted are from our soon-to-be-released EP entitled Notes and Words.

Last night we finished up recording at SushiFish, which means the cd is now half done. We're really excited to finallly be in the mixing, editing, and mastering stages, after which a few new songs will finally be posted. We're working on booking a whole string of shows around the area over the next few months after it comes out, the first of which is March 3rd in San Diego at a protest to bring home the troops overseas. We've taken down the old tracks that were up here, because they are no longer representative of us as a band. They're still up on our myspace however, as are the show listings, so check out www.myspace.com/aparktradition for more information there, and keep checking here for news and new songs. Much love,
APT

Alright everybody, sorry for the terrible title but I thought it was fitting. We've been a band almost a year now, and there have been a lot of ups and downs, members coming and going, playing great shows and empty metal hangers, but now it really feels like we're on track to get things moving and moving fast. We're writing new songs, entering the studio to get some old ones onto cd finally next week, playing more shows, and planning a tour for June. Stick around everyone and keep checking back, great things are afoot. Much love,
Nick and APT
