Anode exists because of many things. It thrives on all that is good and all that has beauty as well as all that is evil, malicious and cruel. It is hope and belief as much as it is desperation and resignation and sorrow.
It is the decision to make the best out of everything so that happiness is possible. It is the positive side of the negative. It is the acceptance of what we cannot change and the appreciation for what we have.
The recordings found here are not necessarily Anode's defining tracks, and the instruments were all done by Marcel not a band because no one could join him in Marathon. I wonder why????? Now marcel has a great bass player and a new drummer who lives in Marathon.

Anode started out in Sudbury as PeanutButterFly, they played shows around there and developed a following with the college crowd. Two of the members then moved to Ottawa because the drummer (Alain Paquette, and Benji Jordan were going to continue with school (friggin' idiots). Just joking. It took a lot longer for Marcel and Nathaniel (lead guitars) to find a decent band and when they finally found a drummer, it didn't work out. So Nathaniel quit the band (whimper, whimper, a shame to lose a guitarist like that) But he taught marcel a lot just by playing with him and he just wasn't into persuing the music as a carreer. Good for him! He has more money than Marcel now... and a dental plan. So Marcel found Kevin Zimon and Sandy Hunter, played some shows as a three piece in Ottawa and, get this, they were some guys favourite band... Imagine that. So Marcel then proceeded to get sick and had to go home to Marathon and no one could or wanted to follow. So now Marcel is recuperating and jamming almost everyday with a childhood insparation- Martin Tremblay and a local drummer named Jon Mathews. They are breathing new life into the songs and writing new ones.
