In the summer of 2004, Rhett Klagge & Blake Emery, along with James Gross & Kevin Martino, talked about joining together to create what is now known as Annihilation. After a couple practices, James & Rhett agreed that the band would need a more experienced drummer for the direction they were looking towards. The two then brought the situation up to Blake, who also agreed. They then brought in Brandon Beato, who was in another band at the time, Third Tier. Although Third Tier was Brandonâs priority band, that soon changed once Annihilationâs song writing occurred. After writing a couple of songs, the band felt it was time to find a singer. Rushing to play shows, the band took what they could find and brought in Corey Timmons, the singer and guitar player of Third Tier. After playing several shows, the band realized that Coreyâs voice was not the right match for their style. After some complications, the end result was when Corey quit the band. Rhett then talked to a long time friend of his, Michael Barnett. The band auditioned him and was blown away. After a few months break, Annihilation was back and better than ever, with Michael as front man. Now more determined, the band is succeeding in generating an even larger fan base than before and is hoping to rise greatly as a unique 80âs metal band in the music industry.
