I read a book about Paul Simon that said he had taught himself guitar and started writing songs around age 14. I was 14 when I read that.

14 years later, I still havent taken any guitar lessons partly from lack of time and money, partly from my thick-headed determination to remain strictly self-made. What I have done is written around a hundred songs, 5 soundtracks for short films, and recorded about 1/5th of all that Ive written.

Now Im part of an acoustic duet, known as danteploy. Weve been together more than 4 years and managed to get all of one decent recording of one song.
