Return of Alternative Rock! 20 year old Andy Reece brings a unique brand of rock that fits somewhere in between alternative, acoustic jam, and indie. When he was only 18, Andy wrote and independently released his debut album "Cure for the Conscience", which made an impact on his home state of Maryland. The album also found its way to the Carolinas and as far west as Texas, and has since been featured Purevolume's top 20 for its hit single "Thrill". The catchy pop rock tune broke 3 top charts, including the Acoustic and Rock genres.
With "Cure for the Conscience" leaving fans wanting more, Andy set out to further develop his own sound, and found it with his sophomore album "The Great Ricochet". Featuring 3 chart-breaking singles, the album gave the young artist massive internet exposure, which in turn led to playing venues such as The Mt. Airy Festival alongside hometown legends like RockStar.
Whether it be Andy's signature sound of acoustic guitars coupled with stratocasters, synths, keys, and other instruments, the alternative artist has quietly earned acclaimed review, giving him a diverse fan base and all the support that comes with it. With plans already announced for a third album: "Somewhere Between Here and There", Andy is not going anywhere. Alternative Rock has made a comeback, and is here to stay.

Packaging delayed..rawr

Long story short, I never got around to getting the packaging together for TGR, so hopefully I'll put the packages together over spring break. Shouldnt be that big an undertaking.

On some good news, my song "Beautiful" got mastered by my good friend Adam Kirby, who did a marvelous job if I do say so myself. The mastered version will be included on the TGR, as well as making an appearance on my next project: Somewhere Between Here and There (EP). Now, we all know how my last "EP" turned out..that is, it became a full-fledged album in its own right. However, "Somewhere Between Here and There" is probably going to be some acoustic compilations of some of my older songs, as well as a few new tunes done in acoustic format. I may throw in a good old alternative rock song for good measure, but for the time being, I'm putting heavy emphasis on the EP as a (mostly) acoustic one. Expect favorites like "Making It" and "Thrill" to get acoustic makeovers, among others. Hope all is well, and thank you always for your continued support!

The Great Ricochet....FINISHED!!!

Alright gang, the album is finished. Complete. I am working on the packaging right now. So, the music was finished by the deadline, but I still have to get the CD's pressed and labeled. I figure they'll be ready for shipment by February. I'll keep you posted. Below is the list of songs that will make it to the final product (note that this is NOT the order of the songs on the disc, merely which songs made the cut to the final product). Also note that I have one more song to add to my purevolume page, titled "Beautiful". It should be online by the weekend.

I'm still here!

Hey everyone, havent written a new blog in a while. So heres the scoop:
The Great Ricochet is looking good. As of now, there are about 5 or 6 tracks ready to be put to a disc. Now, I want to make this record about 10-11 tracks long, sooooooooo, that means the album will probably be delayed till late January while I write some new stuff over winter break. Sorry for pushing it back, but I think an extra 30 days will allow me to get some more stuff down, and make the album more complete. ^_^

The sophomore album on the rise!

With the new single "Battlefield of Love" being received so well by listeners, I thought I'd update everyone on how the record is coming along. With 6 or 7 songs that will definitely make the final cut, I am in the process of writing and recording 3 or 4 more songs to increase The Great Ricochet from "EP Status" to a full length album.

Hopefully by now you've gotten a good taste of what the album is shaping up to be, something thats more dark (generally speaking) than my previous album, but with a few upbeat songs to help sustain the acoustic rock image I built my sound on.

What can you expect from the rest of the tracks yet to be recorded? One of them is a ballad of sorts, while the other one is more of an acoustic pop/rock tune, reminiscent of Dave Matthews. The other tracks...well, I'll leave those a surprise for now. Thanks for your continued support everyone! :) ^_^ =P XD

The Great Ricochet Album Progress

The new album is getting put together quite well, if I do say so myself! Lots of jams to keep you rockin, and some slower songs to set the mood. Look for a brand new song "Battlefield of Love" Tuesday the 12th, around 4:30pm (eastern).
