Starting off in the summer of 2003, And This Is For has progressed musically through the years, showing an exemplary talent and motivation in the local music scene. Hoping to further their career in music as well as their popularity in their home state of Rhode Island, they look to its capital, Providence. Combining unique chords and original lyrics, And This Is For produces songs that are very hard to attach a genre to. Sounding like indie with a cross of emo, rock, and even funk drum patters, they create a sound unlike most have ever heard. Recently recording an 05 EP released in 06, only demoing what they are capable of with some of there earlier writings they hope to spread their music as far across the country as possible, promoting wherever they can. A new EP is in the making, and is estimated to be done be the end of this year. Being a prominent part of the local music scene, they have played a good amount of shows with other local well known bands including The Gradual, Leah Stargazing, Medicated Kisses, and other such bands around New England.
Every band member is ambitious, young, and full of energy, hoping to gain more experience in the music business as they look to the future for how music will be apart of their lives. Some hope to pursue a job in teaching music, others will hold it as more of a fun hobby on the weekends. Regardless, the love to play original music together is obvious, and they hope to get a helping hand to play more shows in more diverse locations across the state, and ultimately all of New England.
