Andrea Hamilton doesnt just make music; she sings her heart. Her simple but insightful lyrics soar, bringing listeners in with honesty.
Home grown and exceptionally independent, Andrea began refining her talents while still in high school, taking songwriting classes with writers from the Nashville Christian Music scene. Her efforts earned her a spot in the Top 20 New Worship Songs of the Year at the Gospel Music Association Conference at age 16. Since then, Andreas songs have deservedly made their way onto the records of each band in which shes played: Quality Vinyl, Small Boat Sinking, Impact, and Entry No. Five, and placed in such films as The Pearl and Have Love, Will Travel.
Andrea is currently playing in SoCal and abroad, co-writing with brilliant minds like Kevin Fisher (award winning writer for Rascal Flats, Sara Evans and Uncle Cracker), RCA recording artist Leah Andreone, and Alan Waddington (live show producer for Gwen Stefani), and composing original music for other up-and-coming artists.
In June 2006 Andrea did an Asia tour hitting some of the hottest spots in Singapore including the Esplanade. She also performed at many music festivals like Rock D'Fort, Pop Village and SonicFest. As soon as her feet hit home turf, she toured the entire west coast - a tour she booked - getting back just in time to start her senior year at Azusa Pacific University, where she earned a bachelors degree in Music.
Since then, Andrea has shared stages with Star Search winner Sam Harris, Henry Phillips from the Bob and Tom Show, world-class pianist Todd Schroeder, Universal artist Tyrone Wells, CCMs pick for Best Album 2004 Sarah Groves, Shawn McDonald and Amy Kuney (musician on Gilmore Girls). You can catch her at places like the El Rey Theatre, Hotel Caf, The Knitting Factory, The Mint, Plush Caf and the Irvine Spec.

1. Songwriting Award
I was stoked to find out I received an Honorary Award in the Annual Great American Song Contest - this competition gets submissions from the U.S., Canada, and around the world, and apparently the liked my song, “It’ll Be Alright.” You can read about the winners at http://www.greatamericansong.com/honorary.html.
2. TV Show Appearance
The list of states in which I’ve performed keeps getting longer, and this week’s addition is the lovely state of Utah. I just got back from playing primarily college and university shows, but I also got to perform on a TV show in Park City. They interview artists and let them share their songs live on the air, so it was really fun! It’ll be up on Youtube in a month so you can see! Also in Utah I played at a humongous house party, and got to share some worship music I’ve written at a church service. It seemed like a hundred experiences packed into one week! I loved it. Only regret: not bringing my snowboarding gear.
3. Cancer Benefit CD
My song “Holding On” from the first album, Stronger Than I Seem, was selected from a huge pool of indie music to appear on the Abrazos Cancer Benefit CD 2008, which will be distributed nation-wide! Abrazos is a great organization that raises much-needed funds for cancer research - you can check them out at www.cancerbenifit.org.
4. CD Release Show at the Hotel Café!
I have to say the new album is coming along nicely… we’re recording vocals right now and I’m really excited about it. What do you think about this title: “Deciding What to Keep”? write me on myspace and let me know!
Anyway, the big day for the cd release is june 28 at 8pm, at the Hotel Café in Hollywood! Trey Lockerbie (who just got off tour with Kate Vogel and Josh Kelly) will be opening at 7pm. $7cover. 1623 1/2 N. Cahuenga Blvd
Los Angeles, CA 90028

6. Summer shows in Orange County
--I’ll be playing at the Renaissance Bistro in Brea with OC folk singer Anthony Morse on these dates: April 19, May 3, May 16, and May 24 at 7:30pm. The address is 955 East Birch Street Brea, CA 92835 and you can call (714) 256-2233 if you want reservations. This place is super cute!
--I had so much fun last year that I booked some more outdoor acoustic shows at Brea Downtown. These shows are on May 9, May 30, and June 13. From the 57 Freeway, exit Imperial Highway and drive West on Imperial. At
Brea Boulevard, turn Right (going North). It’s at
Brea Boulevard and Birch Street, beside the big orange fountain across from Fatburger! What a name.
-- Also Irvine Spec - June 20 at 8pm -outside by the food court :)
You guys take care - and maybe I’ll see you soon!

Hey, thanks for everyone who came out in Singapore and supported me. It was great to see old friends and to make new ones.
So I’m on the road again (in Idaho at the moment) and there are snow-capped mountains all around. been blasting the rental car’s speakers with brand new music, thank you iTunes gift cards, and cannot believe how incredible Natasha Bedingfield’s new cd is! I feel like writing her a letter and spilling my guts about how freeing it is to hear her divulge all the creative, quirky melodies she dreams up on such a colorful poppy backdrop - what a beautiful cd. When I listen to it I feel joy bubbling up inside of me like I’m 6 years old again eating cotton candy:) and I like that Natasha stays out of the tabloids and doesn’t pull all of the typical rockstar crap, or feel like she has to walk around in string bikini’s on her videos to get attention - she gets attention because her voice is so freakin cool! She’s my newest hero, for sure and maybe even a future song-writing buddy- you never know:)

Hey guys there's a couple new videos of my performances online. Check out http://youtube.com/watch?v=5AQj0Bml2pM and http://midsweet.net/music/?p=19.
Also, there was a review on BandNation.com of my show at Molly Malone's.
Here's an excerpt:
During the verses of “It’ll Be Alright,” she was coy and intimate by turns, an Old World pixie uprooted and replanted in the Great Plains. Then, just when I felt the need to protect the frail thing, the chorus hit and she revealed pipes cultivated by generations of women with guts. I’m talking Joni Mitchell-singing-“California” guts here: pure and crisp. Her delivery often conjures up open spaces and Omaha and blue skies (especially on “Truth Get Your Boots On” and “I’d Rather Be”). Wait. Omaha. That’s in Kansas, right? Because I think that’s where she’s from. Whatever. My point is that a little alt-country around the edges is really refreshing.
