Straight out of Tampa Bay, Anam Cara is an energetic mixture of metal, melodies, and heavy breakdowns. This Florida band is exactly that, a hardcore band whos sound is established in the influence of Florida's music scene that has produced bands like Strongarm, Poison the Well, Further Seems Forever, and Underoath. But while Anam Cara is a self proclaimed "Florida Hardcore Band" they are stylisticly different from their peers. Sadly, they decided to call it quits the summer of 2006. Available at

Car Accident in Vegas

Many of you have heard by now but we had a pretty serious car accident a couple weeks ago in Las Vegas. By the grace of God everyone is alive and nothing is broken that won't heal, and luckily most of our equipment and personal belongings are ok.

Before I start describing what happened everyone needs to know that apparently it never rains in Vegas but when it does it's like driving on ice.

So here's what happened.

We were on I-215 in Las Vegas on our way to our show, doing 55-60 in a 65 going around a gradual curve in the highway. We hit an oil spot in the road and it spun out our back tires. This sent our trailer quickly around our right side and pushed us off the road. Once we were on the side of the road we flipped and went airborn for maybe a second and then hit hard and rolled fast 4 or 5 times down a hill on the side of the highway. Everything happened so fast it might have been 10 seconds all together.

While we were flipping and rolling Alex, Bills, and Phil were ejected out of the van. When everything stopped Bobby, J.P, and myself got out and ran to help the other guys. Alex was unconscious and bleeding pretty bad out of the back of his head, but he was breathing. Bills was starting to sit up but was covered in blood and didn't know what was going on. Phil was up and walking around but it looked like he had a bad head wound and was bleeding. A car that passed by just after the accident called 911 and the paramedics got there pretty fast and secured everyone that was injured on stretchers and took them to the hospital.

After everyone was taken away, Bobby, J.P., and myself gave statements to the police and started to gather anything that was thrown out of the trailer and van. Once our stuff got towed away the police took us to the hospital. Phil was ok, he didn't end up needing any stitches, he was just scratched and bruised. Alex had broken his wrist, got 4 staples in the back of his head, and had road rash on various parts of his body. Bills had broken his collar bone, fractured 2 ribs, gotten stitches along his cheek, and had road rash along his arms and back.

Everyone is doing fine now, Alex and Bills are patched up and will heal, and the rest of us are just sore and bruised. Our van and trailer are totalled and all of our equipment is being shipped home to us so we won't know what actually works until it gets here but we do know that Bobby's bass drum was crushed.

I want to thank everyone that has sent us comments and messages of support through all of this, you guys really don't know how much it means and how much it has already lifted our spirits to know you guys are concerned for our well being and want to see us make a quick return.

As you might have guessed our next few tours are going to be canceled, but we will still be playing our CD release show with some fill in members. Thank you everyone for your thoughts and prayers and we will update you guys with anything else that comes out of all this.
