THE LEGEND OF ANAHI:
At the end of 2003 Mat. and Miggy had the idea of playing a song for the talent show. They started practicing and decided to play Smells Like Teen Spirit. They went through countless bassists until a kid named Jon walked into practice one day. The vibe felt good and the music felt better. Anahi was born. Writing songs in the genres of Grunge and Alternative, they developed their early sound. They wrote lyrics that were meaningful and meant something to them, mostly about experiences in their lives.
The summer before of 2004 brought hard times upon the band. Left with no kit and nowhere to practice the band began to crumble. However in September of 2004 Mat. befriended the music teacher at 5 Oaks named, well let's just call him B Squared. B Squared let the band practice after school everyday and became a big supporter and advisor of the band.
Later that year the band fell hard again, Jon was leaving to go live in Denver. So they called upon Robbie, an experienced bassist who was currently serving as the rhythm guitarist for the band. The lineup was now Mat. playing the guitar, Miggy pounding the drums and Robbie on bass. But they still needed a singer.
The band found Brian and started rehearsing. Becoming better songwriters and musicians the band crafted their music into a more melodic sound. Pop Punk, Punk Rock and Emo became references for songs, but the band never lost their harder sound that set them apart in the 1st place. Complications arose and the band had to part ways with Brian.
The band dreaded the summer of 2005 for one reason alone...nowhere to play. But at the end of the summer Mat. and Miggy found an amazing kit for a good price and bought it. The band started practicing old songs and writing new ones inside Mat.'s garage, creating a loud mixture of catchy guitar hooks, hard hitting, energetic drumming and driving bass lines for the entire neighborhood to indulge upon. The band also found a full-time singer in Cole, who also played rhythm guitar. However, the band found it difficult to hook up with Cole to practice on a regular basis and rarely ever had a full band practice. They decided it was better for everyone if it was back to a trio. Mat. had been practicing his singing at home and one day at practice started singing one of their best known songs while playing guitar quietly. Miggy was the first to notice and he liked the lyrics and melody.
The band decided on their roles once again. Mat. would play guitar and sing vocals. Robbie would play bass and sing vocals. And Miggy would play drums and supply the song with screams.
The band has been refining their music style since early 2004 and has a wide variety of songs. In every song you can hear a bit of the bands biggest influences, but dont expect them to all be the same. Look for a CD sometime in the begining of next year.
