All For Your Glory: This was one of the first songs I ever recorded and it's about God using me for His glory and His purpose. God's plan is bigger and better than my own. I owe it all to Him.
She: This song is based on Proverbs 31, about a real, legit woman of God. This song took me the longest amount of time to write. I tried to match up each verse of the song with the verses in the chapter as best as I could.
Open Door: I wrote this song a while back in 2008. So it's kinda old, but I guess it's just how I felt at the time about a certain boyyy hah. The metaphor open door is used like the phrase "when one door closes, another one opens." While in this "relationship" I felt like I was being used and i was a door that was permanently open, aka I was just one of his little options. So the song is written from my perspective to any other girl that may be interested in him. Pretty much warning her that he is ultimately going to waste her time.
Find Me: This song was written when I was going through a tough time with my friends, family, and my faith. Sometimes I felt like God was the only one who was truly, always there for me. To put it bluntly, I really don't have a lot of true friends. I felt like I was always trying to find ways to fit in, but in immoral ways. I want God to be my identity and who defines me. I know this recording doesn't sound really clear or vocally "good" right now, I was sick at the time and used a different program. I will definitely redo this one after I get my recording stuff back haha.
COMING SOON:
A Confection: I wrote this song toward the end of December, trying to start the new year off right haha. It's about repentance and changing my ways and all that good stuff. For whatever reason I decided to throw in a lot of cool/kitchen-type verbs...haha, which is why the title is "A Confection" like a play on words for "A Confession". Some verses I used to help write this song are Matthew 5:13, which calls us to be salt of the earth & to be flavorful. Also, Psalm 143:11 which says 'Lord, preserve my life in Your righteousness, bring me out of trouble.'
Lady: This song is dedicated to one of my old best friends. In the past couple years I have really learned to commit my life, 100%, to Christ. However, a lot of people/friends I hang around aren't, especially one of my best friends. Revelation 2:4 really helped me develope the chorus of the song. It says, "Yet I hold this against you: You have forsaken your first love. Remember the height from which you have fallen! Repent and do the things you did at first." In other words, she used to be a pretty devout Christian, but unfortunately, not as much anymore. So this song was solely, fully written just for her, even though she might not ever know.
Lucky: Not gonna give this song away just yet, but it's about my amazinggg, loving, sweet boyfriend :)
