A Moment of Silence's sound comes mainly from the modern rock of the late 1990s and early 2000s. Mazzotta cited Incubus as a major influence, as the band straddles the harder, almost metal-like sound the California band featured on its debut 1997 album, "S.C.I.E.N.C.E." "The newer stuff is more nu-metal type things," Mazzotta said. "We try to stay as hard as we can without screaming." It's a very tight group, Mazzotta said, saying they go back and forth with lyrics and music, playing along with all the ideas brought to the table. It's a result of being such a close group of friends.

"The 3rd band of the night was the first to really catch my ear. They were called A Moment of Silence. A foursome that was mixing Melvins-esque guitar riffs with new metal vocals. The girl playing guitar was what really stood out, she had a great sound --fuzzy and low but with enough punch so that you could hear all the notes she was playing."-Adam Wujtewicz (Wailing City)

A Moment Of Silence - "Jackie O" Can we please have A Moment of Silence. This group of eager young go-etters hails from Waterford & Old Saybrook, CT. They bring back memories of bands like Hum and Far, which is fantastic company to be in. They're in the process recording a record in NY and then bringing their rock solid rock sound back home to CT. This is a another of the bands that will be making up the next generation of music makers in the New London scene, so show your support.
