Since the band was formed in late 2002, A Means to a Fall has carried it self through the years seeing members come and go. Former members of A Means to a Fall have gone on to work with bands such a Dreading the Seasons, Union City Blue, and Rumor has Wings. Despite frequent adjustments within the band, A Means to a Fall has managed to take advantage of every opportunity they have been given. The band started out playing anything from small local venues to house shows. With only two members of the original line-up, the band has struggled to stay in the scene that they have been brought up in. Now with a steady line-up, A Means to a Fall has assembled new material and plans on touring the east coast during the spring and summer. Over the years, A Means to a Fall has varied their sound over to eventually define it to what it currently is today. Although A Means to a Fall is classified as a hardcore band, the melodic interludes found in their songs contrast the genre's expectations. AMTAF has been featured on the 2005 Vans Warped Tour line up in Scranton, PA and has recently completed recording their 2006 spring EP "Our Last Breath."
