Once started as Point Blanc Ambiossis (from Lelystad/Almere) started their career only hoping to end up someday at the point where they are now. Its absolutely no secret that bands from this region of the Netherlands need to do more than just their best to catch an eye or two. Just like so many other bands, Point Blanc had to suffer some changes in either the bandname (Point Blanc was changed into Ambiossis after guitarplayer Remy joined the band) but also the departure of a guitarplayer.
When Ambiossis released their first demo (back then, as a fivesome) they let the world know what they sounded like, and most of all how they wanted to sound like. While personal influences where pulled from bands like Ill Nino, Silverchair, Dream Theater, Finch and Deftones, they sure dont sound like any of them. They are just influences, because the sound on the demo really have set the tone for what Ambiossis sounds like, and this sound most likely returned every live show. Thanks to the blasting live shows Ambiossis increased their fan-base in a very short time.
But it wasnt until the band went back into the studio to record 2 promo songs (Metaphor and Remove the Dirt) at their own costs, when they knew what direction they really wanted to go. Having solid and clean recordings of their songs really got this guys into wanting to record more and more. By the time Ambiossis got to record their Snapcase album they were already given air-play on Dutchs one and only alternative radio station: KinkFM
Its the 7th of April in the year 2005. Ambiossis wins the MakeMoreMusic finals (which had 2 semi finals) and wins their first record deal at Esound. Finally, the first full length studio album became a real thing.
In the meantime, Ambiossis made a lof of friends in the Dutch metalscene. They played with the likes of Cancelled and Sesamestress, who became good friends of these polderguys. Both bands were asked to guest appear on Snapcase, and Cancelled vocalist Yoav, and Sesame Stress dj DJ Stubby (Peter) didnt had to think twice about the offer to guest appear on Snapcase.
And now. Its finally there, Snapcase! Ready to perform the rest of Holland that still havent met this band yet, and the rest outside of the Netherlands as well. In 13 songs (including the hidden track) Ambiossis lead you through their own story, their own Snapcase. It goes from melodic and emotional on to heavy and brutal. Ambiossis isnt afraid either to take the hardest and softest parts on this record, and put them in one song, which resuls into the song Raped by Fate. Its crossover metal to take the lead on this record, with the heavier songs like Counter-Clockwise and Metaphor. Three Leaved Clover (a previous recorded song, completely re-recorded and re-written) and the beautiful Inner secrets show that theyre more than just plain angry teenagers.
the Dutch crme de la crme of Metal has a new family member, and its name is Ambiossis.
