INFLUENCES

blog post
I grew up in Esquel - (North East) Patagonia. You might not know but the first white people to get there were welsh (1880's). They brought their strong musical tradition with wich all the following generations were raised since.
I've learned to play the guitar (that my grandmother gave to my mother before I was born) by myself after my fathers records; playing over Eric Clapton, Beatles, Bob Dylan, Joe Cocker and many more: Jimi Hendrix, Stevie Ray, Muddy Waters, John Lee Hooker...from Argentina: Sui Generis, L.A. Spinetta, Leon Gieco.
On the other hand, my mother's family (from Balcarce, up center near B.A.) like almost everybody there have a strong "folklore" tradition. I still play the "zambas" she loved to sing (and still does!).
As I came to B.A. I studied jazz and finally entered the "Manuel de Falla" Conservatory of Music, to study classicall guitar with the master teacher Diego Maximo Pujol and were I met the genius Juan Falu.
I listen a lot of the music of Argentina & Southamerica: FANFARRON, Raul Carnota, Tierra de Fuego, Juan Quinteros & Luna Monti, Lisandro Aristimuo, Jamie Roos, "Lucho Gonzalez", Eva Ayllon, the genius "Chango" Spasiuk, Duo Coplanacu,Jorge Drexler, Duo Orozco - Barrientos and many, many more.
