altaration, a family christian band, consists of Barry Smith - singer and song writer, Andy Parker - lead guitar and song writer, Melody Smith - bass, and Greg Smith - drums. Long before there was ever an altaration, Barry was born a singer, singing commercials and singing a duet with his sister on his dad's local christian radio show at the tender age of 4. Barry and Andy grew up together and have been singing and playing together for over 10 years. In 2004, Barry and Andy went into the studio with the help of Billy Lord to record their first cd, self titled altaration. When Barry asked his mom and dad to help him come up with the band name, altaration was born. It is a play on words that means change made at the altar. Shortly after the recording of the first cd, Barry brought the 3 remaining group members into altaration. altaration has played at the Truett's Grill in McDonough and has been invited back on several occassions to play at the Potter's House for Women which is a christian ministry that takes in women with past addictions and teaches them about God's healing.
