Alpha Noise Project is the brainchild of MC/producer KEL, MC/filmmaker Jay Qwest, and turntablist/producer DJ Edward Scizzahands. The project began as a solo endeavor for KEL after branching off of his and Scizzahands prior group, Theory of Mind, but soon turned into a group after the addition of long-time friend and MC Jay Qwest. KEL and Qwest met years ago and started performing around the Atlanta and Athens area with a live band as The Usual Suspects. While Qwest finished up film school, KEL began making a name for himself in the emcee battle scene around Atlanta and soon joined Theory of Mind along with Ricky Raw, Cypher Linguistics, DJ Dig, and Scizzahands. The group made noise in the Southeast indie hip hop scene but shortly after recording their first album branched off from each other. Still keeping a relationship through dropbombz.com, the crew continues to support each artist including Alpha Noise Project.

In late 2005, Alpha Noise Project started writing, recording, and playing shows with their distinct sample-driven sound and emotionally charged lyrics. With DJ Scizzahand's directing each show with his turntables, KEL's charismatic stage presence, and Jay Qwest's lyrical wordplay, the trio seem to be making quite a mark on the local scene and have already played with groups such as Glue (Chicago), Minamina Goodsong (ATL), Adeem, Rising Sons (ATL), Maspyke (NYC), and of course the Dropbombz Crew(ATL). Hoping to release their mixtape Got Jacked? in early 2006 and an LP later in the year, Alpha Noise are staying on the grind and trying to play as many shows as possible. If you have a chance to see them live, take it, because its the only way to truly experience this group.
