A Lion Amongst Us is a hardcore/metal band from Texarkana, TX. The band has spent the past year searching for their sound, finding new members and getting their music to the level they wanted it to be. With things in place they have hit their stride and are ready to accomplish their goals. With Members consisting of James Brackeen on vocals. James has a wide variety of talent from gut wrenching screams, to his powerful melodies. He can do it all! Then we have Colton Starkey on guitar. New to the scene Colton's main focus is to write good emotional music and deliver intensity. He focuses more on the connection and composition of a song rather than technicality. Also on guitar is Justin Lansdell. Justin has more of a metalcore backround. Beefing up a song with chugging riffs and unique timing, he brings his own element into the mix. The newest member is Zach Deaton on bass. Zach is a very technical player. By bringing his technicality to an instrument where it isnt required he is able to incorporate yet another style into the mix. Lastly we have Andrew Gilliam on drums. Andrew has a jazz backround. His dedication to advancing his skills have driven him to succeed in his instrumental goals. These members coming together give an intense, heavy-melodic, complex yet simple sound.
