For more STRANGE DAY tunes and updates click the link and ADD ListentoStrangeDay(NYC)atPureVolume.com AIC is huge influence of ours and it would be dope to get some support from the AIC community. Just finished up our debut EP, "Flawed"... Check out the track "Face The Change," our new single, and let us know what you think... I wrote a little tribute bio for AIC below. It is incredibly dope that they are back together! I know Layne's not around anymore, G-d rest his soul, but I'm just happy that I got the chance to see them, 'cause I thought I never would. Anyway keep reading below, and check out my band. Later...

ALICE IN CHAINS...

Alice In Chains is one of the perennial bands to emerge on the music scene enjoying immense popularity and critical acclaim. AIC were at their peak in the early to mid-nineties, with a sound that differentiated them from the other bands that sprouted up in the Grunge/Metal movement in Seattle of the time.

With Jerry Cantrell's meaty guitar riffs and Layne Staley's eerie vocals, Alice In Chains would be insured a place amongst music's elite. One of the things that further seperated AIC from other bands, was the chilling harmonies and lush musical arrangements that the band would evoke, further contributing to its eccentric and unrivaled musical stylings. AIC brought an approach to metal that was very uncommon. Jerry Cantrell's ability to create such amazing harmonies with Layne Staley's lead melodies, gave AIC a sort of classical, or operatic quality that just was not present in metal music prior to their birth.

AIC has had a profound and certainly a vast influence on current bands, and since Staley's tragic passing, they have re-grouped and are set to remind everyone why they dominated for so long. Enlisting Comes With the Fall singer and guitarist, William Duvall, to take a pass at filling the epic shoes left when Layne pased, AIC has embarked upon a hugely anticipated and successful world tour.

I had the pleasure of seeing them at Musikfest in Pennsylvania. It was nothing short of amazing! Whatever it takes folks, go see this show, and the perfect pre-show party that I had the pleasure of enjoying, was a AIC Box Set : Music Bank listening party and some nice beverages and the such, that got us right in the mood for one of the best hows I have ever seen!!! Definitely go out and BUY this album. It's ridiculously ill! Enjoy some of the samples from the box set that I have posted. I can't emphasize enough, how important it is to purchase albums! That's the only thing that's going to allow for the next AIC to have an opportunity to emerge from the depths of some garage, basement, or studio...Like, for instance, uhh..my band, Strange Day!

This profile is a TRIBUTE to one of the best bands to ever grace a stage. RIP Layne Staley - God Bless folks...
