Los Angeles, California is known to be the Hot Spot for everything going down. From Club scenes, to violence, it is also known for producing the most famous music artist today. Snoop Dog, Warren G, The Game and many more. Akadimik is soon to be one of those names.
Born in Inglewood, and raised in Los Angeles California, AKADIMIK is the oldest of four children; hes been in love with music since a toddler. He listened to the radio constantly, and on one day, he was about 6, he heard the song Eric B is President and was hooked.
In high school AKADIMIK and would write songs after school & basketball practice being influenced by Rakim, 2 Pac, Nas, and Jay Z until he graduated.
Once out of school, AKADIMIK put more of his focus into writing music. Seeing his close friends die due to gang violence or go to jail for robberies, he knew he had to take another route. In 2002 he recorded his first song at a friends house and has been recording since. With no actual producer he would rap over other peoples beats and make his own CDs.
As the buzz on the streets started to grow, he began doing shows in the L.A. area and rapping for local DJs. When asked how he is different from everybody else, he replies I feel I make music for the masses, I create songs that everyone can relate to and I feel thats whats missing in hip hop right now. Im trying to put honesty, passion, and flavor back into the music. In 2005 he released is the Los Angeles Times Mix tape Vol 1 and sold over 700 copies just on his own, putting that money together to get more beats, and up - grade his in home studio.
His music has been used on International independents films by Flatlight Films Yeah Dude and others soon to come. His newest album called GrownmanMusic is soon to be released in March 2006, and already has people placing orders for it. After winning the 2006 Southern California Music award for Best Hip Hop, his dreams for making Hip Hop music better, is just at his fingertips.
