About "AJAR"
A Journey Around Reality
A space is open for a fresh new sound in rock music, and Ajar is taking that role hands-on without any apologies. In a very short amount of time, this young aspiring rock band has been making a name for itself in the underground music scene.
Founded in 2003 in the seemingly quiet town of Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, Ajar embraces the thought of growth and expression in new and sometimes unconventional ways. In fact, the bands lyrical content and unusual song plots push the idea that art has no boundaries.
From promoting their material to performing live, these dedicated young musicians make their band a full time reality. This translates to their music, as can be felt in the precision of their complex rhythms and arrangements. Ajar describes their sound as being progressive and experimental, although they have many influences from outside the rock idiom. For example, ajar is influenced as much by Dali and Edgar Allen Poe as they are by Tool and Radiohead.
There is one bond that keeps the band together: determination. Ajar concentrates every day on creating a unique attraction with their style and music. We are always open to artistic experimentation, says lead singer, Andres. Our minds are set on the idea that originality leads to optimal success.
In a short amount of time, Ajar has already sparked the interest of local radio programmers and press. Chris Line, formerly of 95.1 WZZO, strongly supports the band; "Ajar is the real deal! he says. These songs only scratch the surface of what's to come." As they are regularly featured on the areas college radio stations, it is no surprise that Ajar won the WXLV radio "Battle of the Bands" contest in Lehigh Valley, PA.
Ajar projects a plow full of energy onstage, so that the audience can catch the buzz, says Andres. Nothing can be better than playing for a completely captivated audience, and that is what we are trying to achieve. This will definitely be possible, as the band strives to show their listeners how to appreciate music as an art.
Their debut LP release "Face Down Lobby" produced by Dan Malsch, has independently sold thousands of copies in Pennsylvania.
Aside from constantly working on new material and rehearsing, Ajar can be found heating up the live circuit. They have been featured next to acts such as Fuel, Breaking Benjamin, Nonpoint, Three Days Grace, Ill Nino, Adema, Powerman 5000, Mudvayne, Spineshank, Hinder, Monster Magnet and BigWig. Tom Taylor, promoter for The Crocodile Rock Cafe, Allentown's largest rock arena, always welcomes them on stage. "They are my favorite band!" he says energetically.
With a growing fan base, in addition to radio, press, and live venues supporting them, Ajar is destined for recognition. Their mission is to awaken an exhausted industry and its followers with a potent dose of originality and artistic expression.
There is an AJAR Street Team! it has been pinned "the AJARMY"
