as a number of bands tend to start off by the gathering of a number of friends to jam the songs of their favorite bands, airport drama started off with the collection of poetry between two friends. with permission, one of them took some lines from the collection to create a melody and chord patterns behind it to make a basic acoustic guitar and vocal song. (okay, these are probably the basics of songwriting, cut me some slack for filling you in).
for fun, rough demos were made by recording through a pc. and to polish the songs even more, the tracks were brought to a close friend by the name of "allen strange" for him to mix and produce the songs. the result of this is the friendly four song EP entitled "Parce Que L'E.P."
the song "an ashtray in boracay burnt my eyelashes" gives an upbeat punk feel, while "when unknown reasons are known" is more relaxed, but also has aggressive power behind it. what the act sees as the common denominator of the songs made are the pop-oriented melodies from their choruses.
while the first songs of airport drama were made in the end of 2004, it wasn't until a year after that airport drama actually played for an actual audience. the first "performance" for airport drama was the innovative "online gig" which had an acoustic setup and was open for all. and at the same time, it wasn't until 2 months after that first "performance" that a group of sessionists were gathered so that airport drama's songs can be played as a full band.
