Members: Huw - Vocals/Lyrics, Ben - Guitar, Tom M - Bass, t6 - Sticks.
A Hanging Man's Symphony began as Huw and Ben's search for inspiration and originality. In an attempt to find like minded musicians Ben posted on musician forums. Tom E saw the advert and called upon his bandmate from his other band Tom Moore. Ther result is four guys making experimental noise incorporating metal, ska and all kinds of genres.
Our new EP is out now and ready to buy for only 3 quid. Contact the band on hanging_mans_symphony@hotmail.co.uk for a copy

A Hanging Man's Symphony
Huw "Hug" - Born of the lyrical ideas of SOAD and Bad brains and Wire: the idea being that if you can understand a lyric you're not making enough of a point with it. Influenced by HR and Serj Tankian and Mike Patton, more noise than singing actually leaves my mouth. That makes it artistic! Oh yeah I am into this ska/metal fusion cos find crazy, and unexpected music is much more interesting than anything ever! At all! I would also say that a jazz upbringing probably influences my voice aswell. finally just so you know WE WILL OUTLIVE AND DESTROY EMO!
Ben "The Hair" - After a period of time (about which we shall not speak) of listening to some of the most generic and boring "rock" music around, I began listening to some good stuff. Forward thinking musicians doing something to combat the tide of crap forced at us all. Let's face it, modern popluar music sucks. It sucks a lot. Formulaic artists with formulaic music and formulaic haircuts. Even so called "alternative" genres of music have been filled with identikit crap. Enraged by this, me and Huw thought we should do something against this. We came up with the idea of pushing music forwards, creating a new sound. Combining genres to create a new one in the same way all new musical directions have been created. I've played guitar since 2003 (ish), self taught, so while I may be technically lacking I draw a lot from the music I listen to to be inventive. Bands that have inspired my songwriting include Dream Theater, The Dillinger Escape Plan, The Mars Volta and Pain of Salvation. We aren't a regular band, we're not looking for mass airplay, we're just doing something original in a time when more bands need to be doing the same.
I also like cheese.
Tom "The Politikill" Moore - My music life started off fairly decent, I liked bands like Disturbed and Rammstein (most of which I still listen to), then my mates got me into Reel Big Fish, Less Than Jake etc. Eventualy I found this stuff kinda mediocre, so I started searching the punk, psychobilly and ska-core underground scene, and am now pretty much hooked on shit like Leftover Crack, Horror Pops, The Nekromantix, Rancid and Lars and the Bastards.
My music playing started with a ska/punk band caled Area 69 but sorta crashed and burned after a revival of shit proportions, then me Tom and the singer of Area 69 did this little acoustic side project at pubs and shit, which also didnt really get anywhere.
So after all this me and Tom thought fuck! we need a decent band, and thats when we found Ben who coincidentally was looking for a bassist and a drummer. I think its fair to say that everyone wants to rid the world of this fucking emo shit, and clean up the youths ears, and thats why we're here.
t6 - Born and bred as a 7ft American footballer his dream of world domination was cut short after a freakish science experiment leaving him greatly disformed. After much extensive surgery a metal exoskeleton was graphed onto his body giving him superhuman strength, ability and a rather peculiar ticking sound in his ears. Unfortunately American football authorities disallowed players of such amazing ability to play which much angered him. He soon channelled this aggression into beating and often killing others leading him to serve several years in prison. While at his lowest point a man approached him with two wooden sticks. He soon found the constant ticking in his ears provided him with an unnatural rhythmic ability that soon led him behind a drum set. The reward of hitting objects and calling it music overwhelmed him and he practised daily to improve. After many years of solitude dedicated to the art of drumming he joined a band, but no normal band. This band was destined for greatness and his hopes of world domination were refilled.
