After the Tragedy has been featured on MTV twice within the past 2 years: Once in 2006 as the winner of Freedom Zone's "Amplified Challenge", earning a slot at SXSW in Austin, TX with Thursday, HelloGoodbye, Matchbook Romance, Halifax, Jack's Mannequin, and Morning Wood, plus their own original recordings on Amped 3 for XBOX 360, and scoring $10,000 in prize money with which they bought a van for extensive touring. In 2007 they were featured on MTV for a second time when voted into the Dew Circuit Breakout's Top 6 against an unspeakable 4000 other talented bands. Other achievements include being featured in the November 2007 issue of Alternative Press Magazine, as well as elected into the "Top 3 Unsigned Bands of 2007" in Hard Music Magazine.
"At one point in everyone's life they will experience some form of tragedy, whether it's a death in the family, terrorist attack, weather catastrophe, or getting fired from the job expected to be their career. Eventually, the victim always turns to faith in something; a look to something bigger than one's own life. The realization that all the money, cars, sex, and stuff that this generation tells us we must have means absolutely nothing in the grand scenario of life. After the tragedy we find hope in the fact that death is not the end." -ATT

Hey kiddies,
First off, we feel we should apologize for not booking too many shows in December. We feel the need to take this time to write new material, as we've been blessed everyday with new ideas. Trust us, this is for the best. You have no idea what you're in store for.
All we have to report is that what we're writing is better than anything that's ever been produced by After the Tragedy Inc. We've collectively realized and decided that we no longer want to be pigeon-holed into the "Screamo" niche. While it was fun the past 3 years, it's time to move on and create our own sound. (We're not breaking up) Thus, we've found it and it is glorious. If you'd like to hear samples of this new magical sound, go to our Dew site:

We love you,

Hey there,
If you read this, sorry it's been so long guys. We've been busy little bees. Just recorded 3 brand new songs, not to mention the 2 we did about a month ago. Two of our new diddies are up on the Dew Circuit Breakout Page exclusively. If you haven't heard them yet, please go check em' out and tell us what you think. We value your input.
In the meantime, we'll be mixing the 3 new songs as well so as to continually "kick out the jams" and keep you (and ourselves) happy. Yay! Oh and if you live in Arkansas, here's a special treat:
Tuesday, Nov. 13th
LIVE at Juanitas - 1300 S Main St - Little Rock, AR
YELLOWCARD, Dreamfast, & yours truly
8:30pm, tickets $18 in advance, $20 at the door
Love you!

Hey guys,
Hope you've all had a Happy New Year! Next week we'll be heading back to Atlanta to finish up mastering and then it's only a matter of pressing until the new cd is in your hands! We've been dying to get this to you and Christmas put a pause on everything, but we're back in production now. Expect release to be mid February. Here's lyrics to the songs that are up now:
You Better Be Alone
Wake up, wake up! Something here is wrong
The wood, the bolts, the ropes are all replaced with fog
We're under attack! Throw the ropes across, they fall to the sea
I wouldn't wake those who are asleep, let them die in peace
At least that's what the captain says
Lay me down with fragile hands, tell me that you'll hold me always
That you'll never leave me alone
Lay me down with fragile hands tell me that you will
Always hold me. That you will hold me always.
That you will hold me alone.
I'm still lonely. Tell me what makes your heart beat? Tell me why I'm still lonely
Tell me why I'm alone.
Shoot to kill! Don't let them take us down,
We shot through their chests but their will was carried out
Return the attack! As my saber was returning the dead
The screams of my soldiers would boil my rage out,
This ends now
You can't stand on a ghost ship, you'll just fall through
Not another, no not another word from you I don't wanna hear your lies now
You've torn my will to love apart with your destructive tongue
Not another, no not another lie from you I don't wanna hear your lies now
Just turn around and leave me here
Leave me here alone
The Merchant and the Blue Candle
The ocean breathes it's rhythm delivering my senses, reality is welcoming
Remind me what I'm doing; is this where I've been living?
This cave attempts to swallow light
Will it swallow me instead?
Is this what I hoped for?
A light in the darkness intoxicates,
drawing me closer with no escape to my fate
You are my only light, I found you now you're mine, carry me through the night
You are my only light, I won't leave you behind, I'll guard you with my life
He told me of your glory, about your unheard story,
How could I be the first to hear?
Your light could keep me living, your warmth returns my feeling
But if I shared you, would you leave?
Would your light abandon me?
Is this what I hoped for?
Your love told me nothing would be the same
This has no ending if I'll just stay
Where I'm safe
Will you burn out when I'm gone?
Missouri Loves Company
We'll ride the chariot into town, it dies today when we throw down
We'll sing the melodies that you hate
Just turn your back when we don't (scream)
Any other time I would be laughing at this odd situation
But don't get me wrong please don't think that I do not care at all
In a town where anything could happen, there's an alternate story
Tell me it's my fault please tell me anything but nothing at all
Wake me under starlit skies
Follow me to where we'll hide
We'll leave tonight
In dreams of darkness I often saw what I thought
were people's lives being taken in their homes
But I would never imagine taking a life
Because I belong
You hear the same thing every day
Open your mind and try a
change
Wait
What makes a melody turn your face?
Can you handle this one?
So I'm the catalyst for fear
The reason death hangs in the air
I did not know
If I could kill you then why'd you stay by my side?
Why forgive me when I could take your life?
But you believed I could change
And made it alright
That I belong
You forgave me when you knew I'd kill you
I'm sorry
Halleluiah
