A Friday Smile

Formed in 2004, AFS Founded by Rick who involved Drummer Tim Giessen, Guitarists Nick Schmidt and Ruben van der Pijl (yes we had 3 guitarists, I know).
AFS changed his band members by losing Ruben and gaining Tim van Gelder on the bass and Melvin Lieveld on the guitar, so Rick gave up guitar playing in the band and he focused on singing. After a few months Melvin decided that he lacked the chemistry with his own band and left. The formation of AFS changed again into Rick on guitar again. A few weeks later Tim left the band to play with his new band Primer, which are good friends of AFS so there were no hard feelings (Rick was in a relationship with the leading lady of Primer). AFS was desperate, so Rick asked melvin to play the bass in the band. Melvin's band left him standing alone on an audition,
so he gave the finger and left his band to join AFS once more on the bass guitar in late February 2006. AFS was took part in that talent competition called Plankenkoorts (damn dutch). AFS is heading the right direction since then. With their sincere and harsh lyrics, flowing melodies and eardrumtearing dynamics they try to conquer a place in the dutch music scene.

PS we owe our gatitude to DerekDjons for being our photographer, Richard de Ruijter aka Rider for his graphical work and off course all the people who are behind us and support us to keep on going playing our music. And off course all the people that keep cracking our nuts which makes us strike your eardrums even harder. Or even make you cry sometimes...

Latest News: Melvin and Rick will be recording 2 last songs, which will be acoustic, to complete the demo and then it will be released. The two last songs are titled tracks: Let Roses Surround Me and (name)(acoustic version), I'm really excited about let roses surround me. We rehearsed it yesterday and when we we're done playing we looked at eachother and thought: "If this doesn't make people cry, I'm gonna cry!" so who knows, maybe we can make someone cry?
