Addax, the most innovative band in South Florida, has been together for two years. The most recent addition to their lineup is Jesse Fishman on guitar, who joined the group in August, 2005. The four other Addax members are Laura Nyman (lead vocalist), Omar Williams (guitar, background vocals), Eddy Davis (bass), and Louis Gonzalez (drums). The groups dynamic is a tight-knit interplay between four creative forces that leads to an astounding ability to captivate diverse audiences. Addax has received continuous radio airplay throughout the Miami area, most notably on 94.9 ZETA and 88.1, Florida International Universitys radio station.

Addax has played at several well known venues in and around the Miami area and up the east coast. Most notably, they have won 93 ROCK/Sofa Kings battle of the bands in Fort Lauderdale and a battle at Churchills Pub in Miami. They have also played shows at The Factory and Club Ovation in Fort Lauderdale, Seor Frogs and Purdy Lounge on South Beach, Tobacco Road, Mr. Moes, The Wallflower Gallery, and Flavour, in Miami. They have also played shows in New York City at The Lions Den and Acme Underground.

Theyve also played at several festivals, including the 7th annual Medicinal Marijuana Benefit Festival in Miami and the Tsunami Relief Benefit Concert at Florida International University. Addax is currently working on shows in Florida and Texas, focusing on Orlando, Gainesville, Tallahassee, Austin, Houston, and San Antonio.

Addax's sound is influenced by a variety of musical styles. They have been compared to popular groups like Incubus, No Doubt, Thrice, Thursday, and Mae. Addax describes themselves as a spicy cross pollination between indie rock and pop punk. Currently Addax is putting all of those sounds together and finishing up their first self-titled LP. Tracks on this release include Puzzle, Bleed, Fix Me, Ill Wait, Choke, Blind, Missoutonme, Dirty Moon and others. Addax is recording and expects to release their LP in late October.

Whats in the future for Addax, you may ask? World tours, devoted fans, record deals and the spreading of their love and passion for music. One thing is for sure, they wont be slowing down anytime soon. Addax wants and thrives on the opportunity to touch people with their music. Most of all Addax wants people to be able to relate to what they say in their songs. They know and feel that no one is alone in any situation, and that is why they really want people to feel their music and take it to heart.
