Adam Ezra / Braddigan of Dispatch team up to “Kick AIDS”
On April 19 The Adam Ezra Group and Braddigan of Dispatch team up at the Roxy in Boston to “Kick AIDS” with a concert to benefit Grassroots Soccer, an organization that provides African youth with the skills, knowledge and support to live HIV free. Doors open at 6:30 with Braddigan hitting the stage at 7:00 and the Adam Ezra Group following at 8:30.
This show will also be the Adam Ezra Group’s CD release party for their upcoming disk “View From The Root.” Whether it’s been as kitchen hand or carpenter, teacher, athlete, or traveler, Ezra crams it all into the music, always challenging our perspective, teetering somewhere between the ballsy rocker and sensitive poet. The Group shows their versatility by headlining full band rock shows at major venues (Paradise, Roxy, Middle East) while Adam routinely sells out acoustic performances at folk venues such as the revered Club Passim. Check out www.myspace.com/adamezra for a sneak peak at the new music.
Braddigan, of Dispatch, is currently on tour behind their latest release “The Captive.” While Braddigan has been touring with Reinaldo De Jesus (from Puerto Rico) and Tiago Machado (from Brazil) for 18 months, this is the first time they’ve unleashed their creativity in the studio. Over 50 minutes of music spread across 12 songs demonstrate each member’s dynamic personality and their eclectic collective experiences.
The concert is sponsored in affiliation with the Millennium Campus Conference, a symposium running April 18 – 20 at MIT in Cambridge MA. The conference will address issues of global poverty and AIDS education. The Featured presenters are Dr. Paul Farmer, co-founder of Partners in Heath, five time Grammy winner John Legend, Jeffrey Sachs, author of The End of Poverty, and many more.
So come dance with us in support of Grassroots Soccer. Go to http://www.dispatchfoundation.org/millennium/concert.php for event and ticket information.
