a Dhaka based Heavy Metal Band formed toward the close of summer 2002 with a founding line up of Riad Akram on lead vocals and drums, guitarist Swad Akram and bassist Tamzid Huda. With gigs being ensued at clubs, parties and local concerts, the trio was soon considered to be a part of Bangladesh's Underground Music Scene. This was the birth of Abhijukto (meaning "Accused" in English).
Positive responses form concerts and other musicians encouraged Abhijukto to start work on original numbers. To bring a different shade of creativity to the work, keyboardist Ashfaq Zaman and guitarist Arefin Kamal were asked to join the band. However, both of these candidates would leave before the year was out, forcing Abhijukto to halt all ongoing compositions. Abhijukto was drowned even before it got a chance to surface...
Over time Riad left Bangladesh for achieving higher education overseas. Swad and Tamzid held on. Within 6 months Abhijukto was back on track and was ready to finish what they started. Hosting auditions for a lead vocalist and a lead guitarist wasn't easy but against all odds ABHIJUKTO regrouped, locating their new lead guitarist Imran at the "Benson and Hedges Star Search" Auditions at a local billiard centre. Subsequently Wilver Sarkar was added on the roster as lead vocalist but Imran exited in December of 2003.
By this time Abhijukto finished recording and gathering the best of their compositions to form a demo disc. The demo disc was well accepted and appreciated by most music critics. Eventually more concerts were played at and more songs were composed. All this hard work and was highly rewarded by "FM Tunes" when Abhijukto got offered to work produce original albums under the FM brand. The debut album of Abhijukto is supposed to hit the market later in 2007.
The music video of "Ek Kolpona" was recently aired on Falgun Music. Wilver left Abhijukto
