Abathur formed by "Demaforest" in winter of 1999. in the early days band called "Abyssic" but changed into "Abathur" after he saw this name in the mythological name encyclopedia. Demaforest recorded only one song by his "Abyssic" band called "pictures of hate". between 2000 and 2001 demaforest released 4 demos in the vein of brutal, noisy and grim black metal bands. demaforest said: "my 1st demo is really unlistenable...! very brutal and noisy !!! in the early days of 2002 demaforest recorded his 1st EP and titled "Abathur". more different and more strange music's atmosphere than his early demos. brutal, fast, grim and cold black metal by demaforest and abathur...! demaforest said: "when i finished this album, i said 'fuck off...really raw black metal sound !!!!'. all lyrics are about the grim folktales and dark and forgotten places of the dark north !!! in the februray / march 2002 demaforest recorded his 1st full length album "shadows of dying past". this album is more similar to burzum's immortal masterpiece "filosofem". fuzzy guitar distortion with fuzzy vocals with more dark and melodic parts. in the summer of 2002 demaforest found new materials for his new sound !!! more different than his early sounds. changing guitar distortion and drums voices...! after these changings Abathur released the EP "Blood | World | Flesh | Winter" in late 2002. this EP released freely through Mp3.com in the early days of 2003. it was a big success for the band. "Grim Fuckin Folktales" demo released by "Christcrusher" in UK in 200 copies. "Philiosophic Nothingness" split with the band "Demonar" released through "Regimental Records" in 2002 in US in 113 copies and re-released through "Demonic Death Records" in 2003.

Demaforest started to record some new materials for his 2nd full length album. the album was finished without any title. through the recording of this album Demaforest recieved some minatory mails from someone and that letter said that's better you cancel Abathur, if you don't do it "we will kill you !" some weeks later Demaforest Split Up Abathur with a special note to his friends & fans on his official homepage on mp3.com. "My First And Last Shouts" finished in the spring of 2003 and produced by Demaforest himself and Opitox Records but never released anywhere.
