To put it in context, "Waiting For A Miracle" is one outspoken act. The founding members; Joe Villemaire and Matt Barron, hailing from the Burlington, Vermont area, aquired the services of Ben Fine and Chris Parmelee originating from Plattsburgh, New York, forming a solid and tightly knit lineup in early 2005. "WFAM" later signed to Hotfoot Records, debuting a self - titled album in April of 2007. With musical influences ranging from pop/rock artists of the 70s and 80s to more aggressive and abstract contemporary artists, the band certainly leaves the fan-base demographic wide open for any of those who crave catchy hooks and bodacious jams. Shortly after the record's release and some various touring, a new front man was to come to light and complete the group to its fullest musical and operational potential. Zak Ballard hailing from the Albany, New York area was definitely the right man for the job. Bringing an edgy, pop vocal aspect to the readily driving, groove fulfilling rhythm section, and melodic, cooperatioanal dual guitar approach. This colorful lineup of musicians and great friends puts "Waiting For A Miracle" comfortably into their own niche that will continue to demand attantion and captivate listeners. This 5-piece rock band from Vermont, brings such a big sound from such a small state. Their debut self-titled album speaks for itself combining raw vocals, powerful guitar riffs, catchy solos, and chug chug breakdowns that will leave hardcore fans very happy. They bring the breakdowns in the opening songs and end the album with the best song on the cd. Bite Your Tongue is a song for pop, rock, and hardcore fans. It's the song you finish off a set with and leave the crowd wanting more. Catchy lyrics that have you singing along "all my fears are coming true/ no more faith in what is right/ bite your tongue/ don't let this out" Other strong songs are a mellow slow paced song with female guest vocals in "the long way home" and "end this tonight".

Overall this is a must listen to album. They have a generic sound but they do it better then a lot bands without having to turn to screaming to bring the adrenaline up in a song. My biggest down fall of the album is that I don't like that for every song on the album in the booklet they tell who wrote the song and the lyrics. A band is a band if the singer messes up the band messes up, if a drummer messes up the band messes up, a band is a band its not about taking credit for what is done. I also feel that the song writing is lacking the catchiness that is needed to make a band catch on to the fans of today's music. I feel that the band still needs to grow together, this is a promising album for a band that unlike most won't have a sophomore slump instead I think they will prevail and put out a much better release strengthening their weak points. Expect big things from this band in the future, a few big tours with some bigger bands and maybe a slot on warped tour and this band is set. 8/10---(The HVScene.com)
