The members of "Versa Reverse" are just a bunch of regular guys, with the fitting dream of having fun with music of course. But not just any 'ol' musician, where they preform and produce music based off of their favorite band or genre. Instead, "Versa Reverse" strives for a much more unique sound. A sound that is quite beautiful and complex, as it takes the roots of such a brutal "breakdown," and merely transforms the sound into the beauty of Melodic Hardcore, Ambient and Dance. Do not mistake this band for a genre of typical music. If you ask any of the members what type of music (genre) they play, each and every member will have a hard time explaining. Not that they do not have the slightest idea of what they are doing, it is just there really is no comparison.
The band simply started its premature days with the two vocalists, Tommy Merlino and Willie Walker. They met by both looking into creating their own bands, and eventually they crossed roads both looking for the same thing, and collaborated. Willie would go to Tommy's home and they would discuss what type of sound they were looking for. They came up with the name "Oh, Pretty Boy" for their band. Soon enough the two of them became great friends. And as their friendship matures and grows, so does their music.
The moment at which they felt their music was spectacular, they looked for a recording studio. "Oh, Pretty Boy" found a studio located in Hoboken, New Jersey, at Alpha Studio. The studio was run by Nick Esposito, in which had his own band The Title. Both Tommy and Willie enjoyed this experience. Whether it was the stressful driving upstate and finding themselves lost with signs, or the the driving illegally and crossing traffic to get to the other side on a desperate attempt to avoid going into a five mile tunnel into New York. "Oh, Pretty Boy" finished recording two songs, "Tricks" and "Games." Willie, a Junior in High School at the time, would overhear other students playing their songs. As a band Tommy and Willie felt really proud and accomplished of their work.
Oh, Pretty Boy was then at a standstill, their only form of transportation had broken down. For the longest time, Tommy and Willie struggled with problems dealing with family and jobs.
Soon after dealing with those problems they felt that they should be more mature with their music and how they wrote. The two of them decided that not only should their music be more mature but so should their name. They came up with the name "Versa Reverse." They both felt it was more fitting to the new style they were striving for.
"Versa Reverse," soon started making new songs, new ideas for lyrics, and also started looking for new band members. They received many replies, but none were what either Tommy or Willie were looking and hoping for. After continuously looking, "Versa Reverse" found new members.
Currently "Versa Reverse" is still in search for more members to fit their set. Be on the lookout, because "Versa Reverse" has something they cant wait to show everyone.
