"The [Radiating Eyes] mosh pit is a total no go zone for those of a rather nervous disposition..."
~Martin Stapleton

"An enormous amount of hype preceded our final band, who are the wonderfully titled The Radiating Eyes. Three members of the Battle Of The Bands winners Minimal Damage are in the crowd to first eulogise me about them and then 'mosh-pogo' to this four piece who all attend Wooton Upper school. The band comprise Ben Goodson - (Vocals and Guitar), Dazz Warr - (Guitar), Luke Smith - (Bass), Charlie Moss - (Drums). Everybody sitting in their comfortable chairs are urged to stand up and get as close to the band as possible. I however retreat two paces back to observe them from a safer vantage point!
The local young punk scene has thrown up some interesting bands in the last two years, I would cite Henry And The Bleeders, Dilinquents, Ramblers, Minimal Damage as the natural family tree of this genre. Whether The Radiating Eyes are to follow is one for the future. As a first main gig it's impressive, more for the spirit and energy, because covers feature highly on the set. '13 Denmark Street' sets them on their way, before Dazz (short for dazzling?) indulges in some guitar nibbling.
'Suicide Notes And Antidotes' was only completed last weekend while 'Russian Roulette' slows down everything for a wee while. 'Scum! Scum! Scum!' is a 'punkish' blast with a dancey disco bit in the middle. The spooky anthem 'Halloween' precedes the slightly heavier 'Innocent Fall'. As the boys are recovering and gleaning some much earned applause, Keith announces that 'The Radiating Eyes' next gig at Esquires will be on Level; 2's big stage on Maundy Thursday.

The Radiating Eyes were formed in the summer of 2007 when Ben Goodson (Lead Vocals/ Rhythm Guitar/ Lead Guitar) asked Dazz Warr (Lead Guitar/ Rhythm Guitar/ Backing Vocals) to form a band. Charlie Moss (Drums/ Backing Vocals) was invited to become a permenant member after a few sessions, and then Luke Smith was chosen for the duties of bass guitar and backing vocals. We're just a bunch of four young teens who like to play hardcore punk music and carry on the genre created by legends such as Black Flag and Minor Threat in the early '80s across the pond. We currently have one EP which is self titled and consists of five original songs, on sale at gigs for £2.We have a sound comparable to AFI (pre Art of Drowning era) and the The Nerve Agents, but without copying other bands, we still remain with a sense of originallity. .
We currently need ALL the support we can possibly get, and appreciate any promotion anyone can give us. So tell all your mates about us so we can get on our feet and play as many gigs as possible. For booking, messaging this space is just fine as it is checked dailey.
