The Trade are five young musicians hailing from sleepy town of Forfar. Having been together since 2008, they have established themselves quickly in the Scottish Music scene and with extensive gigging they have fine tuned their music to how they now want it to be. Their sound is not to be missed and their live performances engage their audiences with their Sing-Along, Clap-Along anthems and come along with energy and fire that carries on long after the gig has ended.
It has been the bands ambition to take their music along with this amazing energy to as many people as possible. The massive and very loyal fan base which they already have, continues to grow day by day, is a testament to all the work they have done so far and are continuing to do. In their time together they have already played in some of the country's most prestigious venues such as King Tuts, The O2 Academy, ABC and Moshulu and a number of amazing venues while touring England in 2010 to promote the release of their album, Lie In The Dark. As well as having the honour of supporting acts such as The Undertones, Stiltskin,The Twang, The Twilight Sad & Dave Arcari.
At the end of 2008 the band entered the studio to record a collection of song's "Empire." They would pass out over 1000 of this 13 track demo to absolutely everyone they knew and to all the new fans they met along the way. The following year they set off to the studio again to record their "Breakdown EP." featuring indie stomper "The Dealer" the video of which, received airplay on the digital TV service "Virgin On Demand." 2009 proved to be a turning point for The Trade as they also began working with producer Jeff Allen (Mogwi, Franz Ferdinand, Belle and Sebastian) at CaVa Studios Glasgow, where they recorded 2 new singles "Fight Club" & "Do You Want It?" 2010 is the year where the work with Jamie Savage at the prestigious Chem19 studio in the recording of their album, Lie In The Dark, which was released on Mon 14th June.
