The Unrest were formed in late 2007, and have since bludgeoned venues and audiences with some of the heaviest music on the local scene. The band are known for their uncompromising live sets and no-bullshit approach to delivering their music. The vast array of influences among the individual members has enabled the band to work with unorthodox concepts and ideas, but the outcome always has been, and always will be, devastatingly heavy.

A self-titled demo was released in 2010, and was widely distributed by the band and their fans and friends alike. The Unrest are currently working on a new EP, due for release in 2012. A pre-production mix of forthcoming track "The Violence Effect" can be found on the band's facebook, ReverbNation, myspace and YouTube sites.
