Members: Kyle Wilkinson (bass/vocals), Reid Sanchez (drums), Thomas Holst (guitar/lead vocals)
A little Bio:
The Embry Record is the direct result of the collective efforts of Kyle Wilkinson, (Bass/ Vocals) Reid Sanchez (Drums) and Thomas Holst. (Guitar/ Lead Vocals) The exact time of the bands formations is hard to establish due to the fact that each member was actively playing in other bands at the time of initial practice sessions. The earliest formation of songs, that were eventually recorded under The Embry Record name, were originally written by Thomas and Reid as far back as 2007. Major progress for the band began to occur with the departure of Thomas from the band with which he had spent three years writing and playing (Schedule One out of Prescott Arizona) to focus more on acoustic based songs. Thomas enlisted the help of Kyle Wilkinson (Tie to the Runner, Blind to the Odds out of Tempe Arizona) to write the bass tracks for an initial E.P. entitled Subjective/Objective. The E.P. was set for production at Flying Blanket Recording in Mesa, Arizona. Bob Hoag would eventually produce, engineer and end up playing on much of the E.P. since the band was with out a drummer. The album was recorded in December of 2009 at Flying Blanket and mastered in early January of 2010 at The Blasting Room in Fort Collins, Colorado by Jason Livermore. Only ninety-nine albums were pressed and were individually packaged and numbered by Thomas and the album was independently released February 20th, 2010.
During the summer of 2010 Thomas moved to Tempe Arizona to attend Arizona State University and begin writing with Kyle for a full-length album. They found an opportunity when drummer Reid Sanchez (All Fired Up, Partners In 818) announced that he would be moving to Mesa from Flagstaff, Arizona. A brief phone call between Thomas and Reid cemented the start of regular practices and writing. Reid was offered the position to drum in the band and accepted within a conversation that lasted less then five minutes. The first practice with all members of the band in one room at the same time was set for the following weekend.
