.. April 15, 2009 -- Washington, DC – Richmond, Virginia-based X Records continues to create its own lane in the entertainment industry by inking lucrative business deals with the hottest up-and-coming labels. Thomas "FAT Thomi" Hairston, President of X Records, has added another champion to his roster by signing on DyFor Entertainment—a forward-thinking and self-contained music label based in the renowned DC-Maryland-Virginia (DMV) area. With a dedicated fan base, support of local DJs and tastemakers, and a rock-solid new album in the pipeline, DyFor Entertainment is on task to putting DMV back on the Hip-Hop map. Managed by industry veteran Tymikia Wells, CEO of CatFight Entertainment, DyFor has been groomed for its impending success. Fortune and DyVerse, the brains, production and talent behind the breakout label have laid a foundation for their company that took most majors years to accomplish. By establishing a rock-solid 2.0 presence, DyFor has been able to test the market, garner new fans, and stay relevant all before reaching the mainstream. Their new media savvy has been a key element in their early success, and will be the means to promoting their band of artists. As the DMV area is known for its diversity and being a cultural melting pot, DyFor Entertainment brings the same ingredients to their unique brand of music. "The bar in the [music] industry has officially been raised through this deal," says Ty Wells, DyFor Manager and CEO of CatFight Entertainment. "DyFor is not just a creative team of producers and rappers; it's an enterprise…a movement. What this venture will do for artists and the industry, respectively, is going to change the way people do business, promote talent, and create the ultimate consumer experience in the mainstream." Founded by Thomas "FAT Thomi" Hairston after a ten-year career in the music industry with giants like Warner Brothers, American Records and Arista, X Records emerged as the creative outlet and distributor for his own roster of artists. After promoting major label projects for the Notorious B.I.G., TLC, Usher, Toni Braxton, OutKast, Tamia, Eric Benet, Tevin Campbell, Something for the People and the Wu-Tang Clan under FAT Thomi Promotions, Mr. Hairston has the knowledge and track record required to be an industry leader. DF BIO: Dy-Verse and Fortune a.k.a. DF combine all the energy and lyrical styles of the music industry's hottest duos. DF, representing VA, have been climbing industry ladder for the past 10 years. With an impeccable performance bio, it's no wonder why Destiny International chose their single, Hittem Up as their title single for the movie soundtrack, For the Love of The Game. The movie and sound track currently has a release date for late summer 2006. Fortune and Dy-Verse met in the last 90s. At their first session they recorded their first single, That's Real and have continued to make banging tracks like Put Your Hands On Something, Ride and Need None of Dat ever since. Fortune, a Washington, DC native by way of Brooklyn N.Y. is certainly no rookie to the music industry. Three of his closes uncles have been in the music business since 1976. Ramone Noble, Wendell Noble and Sam White aka The Joneses (Pretty Pretty, Suga Pie Guy) now performing with groups as The Drifters, Coasters and Platters etc... started Fortune on his way as a young child. Given his weight and size, Fortune used security as a hustle in his early adult years to place himself in entertainment environments to increase visibility. With his contacts and alliances in the music industry Fortune had no idea security would give him a name for life, Big-G aka Fortune. Considered worth a Fortune to have around, Fortune adopted his stage name. Fortune, a widely recognized name by many radio personalities throughout Radio One and Clear Channel such as The Wild Boys, Osei The Dark Secret, Lorenzo Ice-Tea Thomas and DJs QicSilver, Six-Sense, and Triny. He has received invites to perform at various industry parties hosted by athletes Rod Gardner, Lavar Arrington, Mike Sellors, and Clinton Portis to name a few. Fortune has created a household name with his poetic lyrical style and erotic delivery. Dy-Verse spent a great deal of his younger years in the Baltimore, Maryland area before receiving a great opportunity to move to Wiesbaden, Germany. At the age of fourteen Dy-Verse decided to develop his own group called Triple Threat. In 1993, Dy-Verse joined his high school band as Lead Drummer. Mr. Stokes recognized the talent within Dy-Verse and encouraged him to perform at various high school events. Egyptian Doggs performed at local shows throughout VA. being a part of Vicious Thoughts gave Dy-Verse exposure to working with a major label (Def Jam). The group never released an album and separated. In 2001 after taking some time away from the music industry, Dy-Verse decided to come back and try entering the industry as an independent Rap Artist / Producer. He came back refreshed and focused! Reacquainting with Indie Labels such names as Round Tree Entertainment, Target Squad Records, B.M.E. Entertainment and Ajani Records, Dy-Verse reestablished his position as a great producer. DyVerse continues to perform at local and national events as well as produce tracks for other artist. In 2005, these two emerged together and came up with the idea to give artist that had the strive to be great a chance, so they came up with DyFor Entertainment. It is a collaboration of some of the hottest Virginia artist. The whole idea behind it is to give the artists who have talent a chance to be in a family based structure. They are not just an entertainment company but more of a home; a family to those looking to belong. There is artist such as Stack Major, a 22 year old hip hop artist with the strive and the stamina to be one of the greatest. D Croc, with his west coast swag and east coast sound he is a force to be reckoned with Melody, her sultry voice with city swag, with the she will get to the top. They also give artist that need to be guided, which they call "artist in development" who are J-Roc, from Fredericksburg VA, Lady Symone, from Philadelphia, gives that edgy delivery. Miss Mika, and of course the CEO's Dy-Verse and Fortune, hailing from Baltimore and New York, merging in the south to deliver a unique sound. With these combination of artist and the high quality of their sound and structure makes DyFor Entertainment one of the most respected independent music organizations coming out of northern Virginia.
