This is the new name for Annuals' sister project formerly named Sedona. Due to some trademark issues, the change had to be made. Consisting of all the members of Annuals (Canvasback Records), Sunfold is a musical endeavor headed by vocalist/guitarist Kenny Florence. Many people have asked why the band should be two instead of just one band with two songwriters. However, after hearing the gigantic difference in musical aesthetic between the two, the reason becomes apparent. While sharing many of the same influences and ultimately the same vision of creating captivating, original music, Adam Baker (Annuals frontman) and Kenny Florence have chosen different paths to the apex. For the past 3 or 4 years, Florence and Baker have focused on broadening their scope of musical understanding by taking interest in many styles of music from all differrent time periods. For Kenny, the main areas of inspiration have been jazz, traditional country, classical music (particulary from 19th and 20th centuries), 70s prog-rock, and Indian music. The purpose of Sunfold is to rediscover the sense of uninhibited exploration of melody and harmony that is always present in the pioneering of a genre and mold it into a sound that is reflective of past and present musical paradigms, without getting stuck in any particular formula. Luckily, Kenny has found himself surrounded by a group of close friends and talented musicians who share his insistence on constantly moving forward. Florence's lyrics reflect a sincere fascination with nature and existence, being heavily influenced by Eastern mysticism and metaphysics as well as mathematical thought. Annuals and Sunfold will be releasing a spit EP entitled "Wet Zoo" April 1st on Canvasback Records. "Toy Tugboats," the debut Sunfold full-length album is scheduled to be released July 15th on Terpsikhore Records, a Raleigh-based collective run by JK Horne and members of Sunfold. Toy Tugboats will be a collection of 10 songs recorded between 2005 and 2007 at Terpsikhore Studios and Osceola Studios (also in Raleigh).
"as if Jeff Buckley came back from the grave to give the world one final moment of "Grace"."

"Sunfold brings in Kenny Florence's guitar-driven compositions, intricate and dynamic and complimented by Kenny's vocals which bring to mind "Grace"-era Jeff Buckley."

Unlike many "side-projects," Sunfold stands on it's own two feet. While the songs may not be adventurous as Annuals songs, the amazing melodies make the songs shine.
