SKYFORGER has been around already since 1991 when 3 young men got obsessed by the mighty Heavy Metal. First incarnation was doom metal band Grindmaster Dead, which later in 1995 they renamed in the name of ancient Latvian pagan Thundergod - Skyforger.
Since then band has been successfully mixing such seemingly impossible to fuse styles as Black Metal, Heavy Metal and Baltic folk music.
In the past few years SKYFORGER also worked on a conceptual album about the legendary Latvian fairytale hero Kurbads, who was born magically from the white mare and did many great deeds.
The album, similarly entitled 'Kurbads', was released via Metal Blade Records on April 26th 2010 worldwide. Right now, band is working already on new songs.
