The Prelude to the Waltz

This is a new one, and was also the last song that wrote for the album, and I think we all really enjoy this one. It was written in one sit down after some people in my family came to certain decision/realization. Hope you guys like it.

The Prelude to the Waltz

There’s an absence in the arms we spread, and feeling freezes and disconnects, so we wonder as the fog sets on the river like aimless ghosts. Now the sight’s the same here with every turn, it’s all drawn in plain white like clouds, with no heaven above us, or hell raging below.//

So we stand back, and slip away. You sold us out. Though you hide your head, still your eyes fill a river, and I still see the glow inside.//

There’s a pride you tend to carry though there’s no direction or set path to lead us to where the dirt is dry and this vision is meant to stay. Now all that we’ve hoped for is for what’s left here to stand, because all we are is now a burden split between a haunting and a man.//

So we stand back, and slip away. You sold us out.//

We sit in stolen wonder as our bodies start to sink, until our backs lay flat against the earth, our brittle bones will keep us buried deep. Nothing separates us here, nothing separates us here, and once we stand I know we’ll stand on solid ground.//

So we stand back, and slip away. You sold us out. Though you hide your head, still your eyes fill a river, and I still see the glow inside.//
