Dear friends and family, To begin to summarize and give you an update about the ways God has been moving these past few weeks is a difficult task indeed. Today is our first day back in Lome after almost 5 weeks of working on the field with the different missionaries of Pioneers-Togo, and a lot has happened since we last sent an updated from Kara. We spent two days working in Nadoba among the Tembermas people, ten days in Guerin Kouka among the Komkombas people, and five days in Bassar among the Bassar people. In every village we were blessed to see people accept Christ as their savior! In the most recent village, Wamane, we met an area chief who had given his life to Christ and three weeks ago asked the missionary and pastor to help him destroy all his idols. Now he wears white to remind him that his sins have been forgiven and he is no longer held hostage by his old way of life. What an awesome testimony to God's grace and mercy! Please pray for all the new believers - that they would truly know the joy of their salvation and that they would continually grow closer to Christ. We also have had the privilege of worshiping with the local believers each Sunday and getting to see how church works here in Togo. We've had a lot of fun singing and dancing to the African worship songs and also sharing some of our own worship songs with the local churches. Jen is doing a great job playing the guitar and Jordan has mastered the art of playing the djembe. Andrew and Andy are our resident preachers, and we have all learned a lot from their teaching each Sunday. We celebrated Sarah's birthday in Napimbo (near Guerin Kouka) on July 1st. We had a cake made for her in Kara and we ate her favorite African meal - pasta and corn beef! We had the great experience of camping out for 3 days in Napimbo. We all slept out in front of Bawa's (the missionary) house - all safe inside our mosquito nets and Andrew on his pool float! The 4th of July was also spent in Guerin Kouka. It was supposed to be a work day, but the rain turned it into a holiday. Some of the girls took over cooking for the day, so we had good American meals: scrambled eggs for breakfast and Velveeta Shells and Cheese for supper! We also declared Andy an honorary American citizen so he could celebrate with us. Kim has been voted our "activities coordinator" - she arranged an awesome game of Battle of the Sexes, which the girls generously allowed the boys to win...by 1/3 a point! The boys might tell a different story - but they're not writing the update, now are they? Now that we're back in Lome, we have a few days to rest up and explore the city. Next week we have a few days to help at a local clinic and then we'll be showing the Jesus film and two local evangelism films in a nearby village. Please pray that God would go before us and prepare the hearts of those we will share the gospel with, that His word would not return to him void. Also, as we near the end of the trip, please pray that we as a team would stay focused on the purpose for which we came: to see God glorified in the nations of Togo. We are all getting excited to return home and equally saddened that this season in our lives is coming to an end, so please pray that God's peace, which passes all understanding, would guard our hearts and our minds in Christ Jesus. We miss you all greatly and continue to pray for you often. Thank you again for covering our team in prayer - you have blessed us more than you'll ever know. We send our love from Togo! hi guys! hope everything is going well. we are about to leave Kara tomorrow to head back into the villages, so we won't have any internet for a while, so I wanted to write you a quick note to say we love you and we miss you. this week has gone really well. we've been showing the Jesus film in a village near Kara and we had a lot of people come forward to give their lives to Christ. This is the rainy season, so we got rained out twice...but we did get to dance in the rain! The guest house in Kara is really nice. It has air conditioning, showers, toilets that flush, and beds with mosquito nets on them already! It will be sad to leave all the comforts, but exciting to be back in the villages where we can move around more freely and play with the local kids more. One little baby I was holding last week peed all over me. They don't have diapers here. lol. Today we have a day of rest and Francis, the team leader from Lome, came with his wife to surprise us. He took us out for pizza! After that we went to the market in Kara to look around. Saw lots of stuff for idol worship and fetish doctors and stuff. It gives a whole new meaning to idols to see that the majority of people here still make sacrifices to idols. Idols aren't just the American concepts of money or tv or anything you put before God. Here they are the real thing and you have to sacrifice even when you have nothing just to appease the gods. It's so sad. Please be praying for the new believers that they would have the courage to turn from that way of life completely and follow Jesus. Many times they tell you they know Christ, but it's just a show of respect, so it's hard to know when there's a genuine conversion. But God can do all things and His gospel can reach all people. The team is doing well. Health was something of an issue this week for several of us, so please keep that in your prayers as well. It's hard to believe the trip is going so fast. We're still praying for you often and missing you lots.

Greetings from Togo,
This first week we have been working in Djon and the surrounding villages, showing the Jesus film and other local evangalistic films. We are working with the Akebus people and they have been very receptive to the gospel. Last night in Ketchembe we saw almost an entire village commit their lives to Christ. On Sunday we had a church service in the village with them and Andrew preached an awesome message about the foundations of Christianity and how new believers can grow in their faith. Afterward, they read us a letter on behalf of the whole village and the chief. They told us how they had heard about the gospel before from the local missionary, but they were skeptical until they saw the faith of our team was the same as what he had told them of. When we went to leave the whole village folllowed us while singing a song of thanks and waving branches at us. It was truly amazing...I think we all really fell in love with the people in Ketchembe. God is truly making his name known among the nations!
As of now, we are in Kara for a week, working in the nearby villages. We are all in good health and good spirits. God is teaching us daily about ourselves, each other and His love for all nations. Please continue to pray for our team as we work our way through Togo. Pray for continued unity and enthusiasm for the work we are doing. Also pray that we would remain humble and allow ourselves to be used as instruments for sharing God's love with all the people we meet.
Thank you for your continued support and prayer! You are each an important part of this team and we can't possibly express our gratitude enough. God is using your support in magnificent ways! It is as Paul said in Colossians: "All over the world the gospel is bearing fruit and growing." We're so glad that you have partnered with us to make that possible and we are praying for you often. We love you all dearly and miss you all greatly.
Grace and Peace,

Hello All,
I wanted to let you know that the Togo team has arrived safe and sound and we are getting situated in the house where we will be staying. For the time being we are in Lome, although we leave on Sunday to start moving through the different villages we'll be working in. I don't think we'll have a lot of access to the internet while we're gone, so it may be a few weeks before you hear from us again. Lome is a great city, and we've had the chance to explore it a little already. The food here has been wonderful as well. I know our team is relieved to finally be done traveling and excited to get to work. We'll be updating as often as possible.
We love you all!
Grace and Peace,
Kayla
