I really don't know how to start an autobiography but I guess this one will really make sense in featuring my identity and my music. When I was young I was usually into divas but when I heard my sister's music, everything has changed. I fell in love with indie pop/rock music which is sometimes labeled as folk.

With 3 previously released EP namely "Holding Hands While Walking", "Half Empty or Half Full" and "Kulaba", now I came up with a compilation album. "The Kangkungan Compilation" is a collection of my songs that I've written for the past four years. During high school, I've been writing songs that are nice, boring, shitty and hilarious. Then, I was just into jingles but now I can say that I'm truly a singer-songwriter. I became a guitar player at the age of 20, but still trying to be a great one. I don't know if I'll take piano lessons but I guess I should.

About songs that I wrote in this compilation album mostly they are biographical about friends, places and events. I don't have that so-called love story that's why I rely on other story to make a more flowery poetry. I know I'm a 'bad mouth' sometimes but I'm really sincere and honest with my lyrics. The guitar is the magical thing that put me into the position as a singer-songwriter. Guitar is easy to carry and wherever I want to go and play my songs, I can easily grab it. There is a place in my hometown called "Balanggutan" which is also a song in my album where I usually go to write my songs. The place is so boring but I got inspired to write some songs there and it's really cool because you wrote something despite the unpleasant things around (the place is kind of filthy but comforting, huh?).

In recording an album, thank God I got blank cassette tapes, stereo and recording software. "The Kangkungan Compilation" is a self produced album. I finally came up with 15 tracks. And I'm very thankful despite of the miseries of life I am able to record and produce my own album. Hope you like this project and I hope I could make more albums soon.
