Members: Naomi Carmack, Shane Gaboury, Joel Purkess, Alec Card, Craig Sartor
Six String Loaded.
The band formed in early 2007, with vocalist Naomi Carmack and guitar player Shane Gaboury among the original members. It wasn't until late 2007, that the band found their lineup.
Shane Gaboury is currently in his first band, and loves the experience of being on stage. Learned guitar at 17, and is known for being a quick study of all things music. Shane plays rhythm guitar currently, as well as riles up the crowd at the shows. Shane has also excelled as an actor in two touring musicals.
Joel Purkess has been a drummer for almost a decade. He has experience not only playing, but teaching his craft as well. He is in his final year of music study at Grant MacEwan, as a drum major. He is a huge fan of jazz, and has played in many bands before Six String Loaded.
Craig Sartor has been playing guitar for the better part of a decade. Also a staple of many previous bands. He loves to party, and really enjoys banana muffins.
Alec Card is the last piece of the puzzle, joining the band through Joel and Craig. He started with guitar, and picked up the bass seven years ago. Alec has many talents, such as train engineering.
Naomi Carmack is a rarity - a female rock singer who's not afraid of the boy's club. She has been involved in the Alberta music scene, writing and recording, since the age of 12. She was nominated for an Alberta Recording Industry Association award for "Best Dance/Rap/Rhythm Artist" in the '90's, but found her true calling as a rock musician.
Originally "The Naomi Carmack Band", "Six String Loaded" has been playing venues around the Edmonton area for the last year. They plan on writing and recording new material, as well as performing a few cover songs, such as their rocked out version of the Canadian classic folk song, "The Log Driver's Waltz".
A "Six String Loaded" show is always a party-your-ass-off good time. Make sure you get to see them live.
