Earlier this week, ZBMG got a chance to sit down and get an exclusive interview with one of South Florida's up and coming artist. But as he will tell you he's not an artist, he calls himself a politrician. Whatever that may mean...But I can tell you this, you'll never meet another guy like Mr. Politrix. I had to learn that on my own...I give you an exclusive look inside the mind of Mr. Politrix. The next in line and the future Mayor of Broward County....
ZBMG: Who is Mr. Politrix?
Mr. P: Well Zoe, Mr Politrix is a part of a movement. A new type of Broward county's movement as this one doesn't move you in a physical sense, but more towards a mental cognitive state of mind. I'm a young cat who sees and looks at the world in its distinct position. I can only tell you of what I see and how I see it because thats the only thing I know. The more I begin to interpret what today's politics are all about I see that alot of the facts are really set up so that it would be more difficult to understand what's really going on in and out of our government. Mr. Politrix is going to take you through the tricks and the trades of the politics that have seemed to become infiltrated into our minds on a daily basis. It is what it is, and it's all Politrix to me...
ZBMG: So what is Politrix really all about?
Mr. P: Like I said earlier, politrix is a unique type of movement. The goal of this movement is to maneuver the ordinary mind away from it's conventional state. Albert Einstein once said that, "The most incomprehensible thing about the world is that it is at all comprehensible." And as I focus on that statement, I think to myself well if that is true, then what in this world are we supposed to be realizing as we live our lives in this misinterpreted world. I take a look at the Politrix that I see on the news stations, and I interpret it in a way that I may describe it to the next man who seems to be as clueless as me. One thing I regret is not taking any interest in political science while I was in school. I may have been well aware of my current surroundings and the issues that are currently facing our nation. That's why I'm hoping to turn up the sounds, while I open up the minds and ears of the youth and my peers. You know, like take them away from all the crunkness, the gangstaness, and the so called realness for a while and introduce them to there conscience. And thats something you can't find on any reality television show.
ZBMG: Where is Politrix?
Mr. P: To be honest with ya homie, Politrix is just about everywhere. You can find it and won't even know that it is in existence. The trick us with the words and political statements. It's in the white house, while the press secretary foams it out of her mouth and onto the media. It's in the halls up at Capitol Hill, as all sorts of politicians look for ways to help build their wealth and power. It's in the governor's mansions as guys like Gov. Blago sells senate seats like he was Don King and shit. You could find it in your local schools, libraries, and city halls. The judicial system is full of it. Television stations blast it the most though. You could find alot of it on the tv shows that we currently love to watch. They keep alot of it hidden in the news media. You could most definitly find it once every four years during the presidential campaigns. Man, those guys gave us so much politrix last year. Sometimes Zoe, homeboy you could find it at your church.
ZBMG: Naw bruh, in the church, how you gonna find politrix in church man, c'mon?
Mr. P: Now I don't want to touch this topic too rough because some may come to consider that I'm supporting the anti church crowd, but I'm not. I was just raised a little different and I came to see that the church was more like a business than an actual place of worship. With the pastors being the chief execs, the church committee being the board of directors, the deacons as the managers/supervisors, and you have the congregation which supports the operation while they commit themselves to paying their weekly tides and offerings. It seems like in the US, we fear the world much more than our foreign counterparts. One reason is because of the crisis that the elite seem to come up with one after another, which causes us to fear for our lives, our children's lives, our finances, our well beings, and for our futures. Many of us run to the church to find what may be our only place for centrical ground. We live to learn how to Love God, and we do so by continuing to praise him, honor him, and thanking him for blessing us with the air that we breath. Now while alot of us do find him in the church, many believe that the church is him, and those are the ones that have been blinded with the disillusion on what I call politrix. In the bible, is says that Jesus walked with the evildoers and sinners as well as ate with them all. And when he was asked why he did such a thing, he response was, "And why do you break the command of God for the sake of your tradition?'These people honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me. They worship me in vain; their teachings are but rules taught by men." The more and more I thought about it, I came to interpret his reasons. But when it came to churches that I've seen in my lifetime, you couldn't come as you were. White tees and jeans would have you being critiqued like you were being judged by God himself. And instead of accepting that poor lost sheep into the herd, they ridicule him as they go about their lives as if it was perfect. Theres more to it, and I probably didn't give you a good description of what I meant, but it's deep like I said before. But it's all Politrix Zoe.
ZBMG: How did Mr. Politrix come to be?
Mr. P: Now mind you that I've never thought that something like this could ever be, as this is something that was never expected. Mr. Politrix is what you may consider an infant in the game. While in school, I became so intrigued in the current affairs dealing with the government and the different laws being passed due to the crisis that we were facing then. I kept my eyes glued to the tube. Watching press releases after press release, and interview after interview. I started to see that alot of the facts weren't being put on the table and we were getting alot of false and incomplete information. As the years went by, I just kept reading and reading the books that some of these authors have written, and I seriously felt like I was being mislead since grade school. The lies and deception just were too much to handle, and alot of it had been smoked out with politrical statements. The more information that I absorbed the more, I began to really take a look at my future. And how much control that we were giving away. It was hard to tell people, because it's not easy to tell the truth to somebody who has been lied to all of their lives. So on August 28th, 2008...I jumped in the booth...And I put that real on deck...
ZBMG: Wow, that was just a couple of months ago, Mr. Politrix has been getting his grind on?
Mr. P: Well, you can say that. But aint no hard grind going on over here cause my pockets still sittin on E. Like I told you before, I'm like an enfant to this whole rap/hip hop thing. I'm usually one of the ones that judge the music I hear while discussing my reasons with the homies. Now that I'm on the other side of the judge's table, it's shocking to hear what people have to say about my music. I mean whether they think that it's great or if they believe it stinks, I take all the critism in with open arms. I respect all of my critics' comments. Like an enfant, you can't cry when they tell you that you're cute or ugly. You can only sit there and stare wondering what they're talking about. It's hard to respond because you don't understand how to. It's all new to me. All an enfant could do is cry when it's hungry, when it's upset, and when it's in the need for some comfort. ONly difference between then and now is that my tears come out in bars. And Zoe, you've gotta respect a baby who was born with the first name of Mister.
ZBMG: So what do you consider yourself as? A music artist, a rapper, or what?
Mr. P: I'm what I call a Politrixian. It's a new word that I probably need to get copywritten of this interview. But anyway, I use this word to consider what I'm trying to fulfill with this operation we have down here. I'm like a medicine man who uses words as antibiotics. Some of it may cure your questionable thoughts, and some of the info may cause side effects that only I may shrink you out of. But at the end of the day, I'm doing me and that's what I do. I say what I want to say and how I want to say it on a daily basis. You could ask anyone who knows of me, and the first thing that they'll probably say is, "That nigga Politrix been on some other shit". So you could call me some other shit guy. (laughing)
ZBMG: Who are some of the artists that influence your music?
Mr. P: Well, I can't say that I wasn't expecting that one. I first found my love for rap music back in the early 90s when Goodie Mobb and Outkast. Those guys were the first to show me how to represent the south with swag and knowledge. They forced me to love the south, and be glad that I was part of it. Other artists such as Bone Thugs, Scarface, UGK, Tribe, Nas, Mos Def, Soldier Slim, Eightball & MJG, Trick Daddy, and of course the greatest to ever pick up a mic Tupac Shakur. But on another real note though, I really looked up to some from my hood. I'm talking about local artists like Paybak, SP, Street Grindaz, Ace Hood, D. Prince & Eddie D... Man these cats been doin this thing as long as forever, and to know that they speak real and represent exactly what I know of gives me great honor to say that I am a broward county representative. They are all different in their own unique way, and without those guys there truly would not be a Mr. Politrix.
ZBMG: So why Mr. Politrix and why now?
Mr. P: C'mon Zoe, could there be any better time than now. The airwaves are full of fokery. It's taking control of the minds of our youth. It's destroying the future of the next generation. But maybe that's something they may already wnat to happen. Maybe they're going to change things, like they say they always are. I mean they just recently gave us our 40 acres and a mule. The 40 Acres being the 700 billion coming from the FEDS, and Barack Obama just became our mule. I don't know if things are going to change for the good or for the bad. But I do know that this is going to be something that no one could ever see coming. Unless you're one of the twelve seated at the table of thirteen. But thats a whole other interview right there. Nobody knew that I had flow like this, no one knew that I had all this to say. And as the world changes so has the mind and thoughts of Mr. Politrix's. Only thing I've got is a head start, then who knows maybe I could run for majr one day. Leadership must come first, and right now Broward COunty aint got none...It's Politrix baby...It's all Politrix...
