The Little Mermaid's live-action movie is being directed by Rob Marshall, the guy who brought us Mary Poppins Returns so we're expecting a bit of a modern twist on the movie and some early details have already confirmed that twists are on the way..

So far we know some original songs will be included along with new music from the minds of Alan Menken and Lin-Manuel Miranda. We're especially excited about the Hamilton creator's role in producing the live-action flick.

With “Aladdin,” already grossing more than $820 million worldwide, we expect Disney is going to make sure the right casting choices are made as they continue to ramp up their live-action focus.

Up next? The Lion King live-action movie which debuts in the United States on July 19, 2019.
