Capturing the attention of producers, promoters, and fans across the east
coast Jettason is making their way to the top. This Buffalo-based band
is made up of 3 members: Corey, 22 on guitar, piano and vocals. Dave, 23 on drums.
And Mo, 21 on bass.
Jettason's roots began in 2002 when front man Corey Whalen met
drummer Dave Dombrowski through a mutual friend. After 3 years of playing
music together, releasing EPs, and struggling to find a name to go with their
original sound Jettason was finally established in 2005. Once the band started
recording EPs with their new name they really started to get themselves out there,
playing shows all through-out the upper east coast, and creating a solid fan base.
Though, finding a solid base for the band wasn't so easy. Whalen has said
that one of the band's major set backs was "finding band members that would
commit." But after several years of different members coming and going, Mo joined the act in August 2008.
Jettason's latest album "The Fight, The Battle, The War." Written by Whalen has been one of Jettason's greatest accomplishments. After almost a year of
pre-production the band finally started recording the album in April 2008,
thats when famous producer Gary Mallaber stepped in. The band had been wanting
to work with Mallaber for some time and when Mallaber finally heard Jettason the
feeling was mutual. Mallaber started flying from L.A. to produce the bands album
in Buffalo, NY and after months of piecing the album together it was finally finished
in Janurary of 2009.
How did Jettason find their sound? Whalen has said that some of his inspirations
root from Buffalo's own Goo Goo Dolls, and the Classic Rock-n-Roll environment he
grew up in, but he rules no type of music out saying, "We listen to different elements
of different music to help generate an original sound."
We can expect a big future from this small town band who has stopped at nothing
to establish themselves.
