AI or Artificial Intelligence and Human Interpersonal Relationships - Hollywood Reality Check
Artificial Intelligence - Not long ago, a buddy of mine informed me they wanted to go see the new Hollywood Movie "Her" that is about a guy who decides he's deeply in love with his AI pc assistant. I saw the previews, plus it looks like a good movie just by a clip on YouTube. Let's talk.
You see, there is an appealing article inside the International Business Times titled; " Understanding 'Her': Experts Ponder The Ethics Of Human-AI Relationships," by Roxanne Palmer published on January 17, 2014 which stated:
"An AI, unburdened by human scruples, may end up favoring one of the most direct way to a solution. And, from your computer's viewpoint, many of our everyday problems could be quickly solved by murder -- or suicide. 'If we program AI badly -- in the event the definition of 'success' is always that we are saying we're satisfied with their performance, then they're motivated to lobotomize us in any manner is most practical to verify their performance is great,' Armstrong says. 'Whatever simple goal we let them have to organize our everyday life generally includes a possibly pathological solution.'"
Guess what happens I say to all of this? Well, let me enlighten you. The truth is, to start with, I am really getting tired of such articles which manage to dummy along the public into believing which our cognitive scientists and Artificial Intelligent researchers are only now looking at these items due to some g-d-Hollywood movie. The truth is that folks happen to be studying this and considering it let's focus on over 50-years. These kinds of BS articles compiled by reporters who aren't really in the know, mislead the folks and are setting a really low standard for knowledge. It is simply BS in my opinion, and yes, I understand you didn't but, let me explain.
Yes, fun article, by forget about intelligent when compared to a Kim Kardasian posting or perhaps a Paris Hilton tweet to the mindless masses. Look we need to fare best than this as the future is overlaying itself onto most of society and civilization and AI has become, it's here and it matters in all areas of a person's endeavor. Now then, think about the movie with HAL or Isaac Asimov's Foundation Series, or perhaps the Disney Movie A.I. and you can see this genre or them are few things new. It has been predicted, discussed and debated for decades now.
Are we trying to get people to just accept not able to artificial intelligence within their lives, is the point of such commentary? Because, I do believe every one of the ethics professors that That i have ever heard about consider almost all of the possible ramifications the prior thus it's time to see if these potential realities are or aren't our future. Please consider all of this and think onto it.
